TT 2006 Audi TT Final Edition.

Re: 2k6 Audi TT What the hell is that crap on the top.

Going for the Mini Cooper look I think.

But being serious, it's simply a marketing thing. The new TT's coming, so they're trying to sell off the current model TT, and what better way to do that than to change something little and provide customers with something different to the rest of the TT owner's.
Simple product extension strategy as the product reaches its maturity stage. They're just trying to milk as much sales from the TT as possible before the new TT debuts soon.

That's something BMW should have done with the current E46 Coupe so that more units could be sold off the dealership lots QUICKER to make way for the new Coupe which is being delayed now coz of strong E46 Coupe sales.

Absolutely. Dealers are having a bit of a tough time getting rid of them. Great post!

I think the red/black one looks pretty cool actually - and that's the first time I've said that of the TT.

Audi

Audi AG is a German automotive manufacturer of luxury vehicles headquartered in Ingolstadt, Bavaria, Germany. A subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group, the company’s origins date back to the early 20th century and the initial enterprises (Horch and the Audiwerke) founded by engineer August Horch (1868–1951). Two other manufacturers (DKW and Wanderer) also contributed to the foundation of Auto Union in 1932. The modern Audi era began in the 1960s, when Volkswagen acquired Auto Union from Daimler-Benz, and merged it with NSU Motorenwerke in 1969.
