New Ferrari hybrid V6 engine plus mid-engined model to sit above 488 GTB on the way

Ferrari will launch 15 new models by 2022 with an SUV due towards the end of the product plan, the company has confirmed.

Under the guidance of new CEO Louis Carey Camilleri, 60 per cent of the Italian firm’s products will feature hybrid technology within the next four years. Key to that will be the development of a new V6 hybrid powertrain, which Ferrari has confirmed is under development.

Ferrari bosses would not be drawn on speculation that the V6 engine is for a new generation of Dino, but did say that the engine will be used as a lower performance entry point for models such as the Portofino.

Over the next four years Ferrari’s product portfolio will comprise four key pillars: Sports, GT, Special Series and hypercars. The Sports range, currently made up of the 488, 488 Spider and 812 Superfast, will grow to include an additional mid-engined model said to be ‘a real supercar in the standard range’ which will have ‘more performance than a LaFerrari’.

All models in the Sports range will be hybrid only by 2022 and benefit from the technology developed by the firm’s F1 team.

The upcoming SUV, known as project Purosange, will sit in Ferrari’s GT range and feature new plug-in hybrid technology. The GT line-up is designed to ‘expand the Ferrari family’ and cover ‘growing market segments’.

A new hypercar, or replacement for the LaFerrari, is not in the brand’s mid-term plan but the company did confirm work is under way on the technology that will feature in its successor.

Elsewhere, Ferrari also said it will continue to develop naturally aspirated V12 engines and aimed to double its profits to €2 billion by 2022.

Not only did you decide to do a SUV and then you give it a terrible name also? Very un-Ferrari like.

Ferrari should work on it's material quality and get on with modern tech in it's cars.
As amazing as the 812 is, the material quality is an utter joke, and the car lacks any kind of modern driver assistant tech.

Nevetheless, a new Ferrari GT sounds fabulous.
V6 on the other hand sounds pathetic and poor.

don't underestimate their capacity to create nice sounds on that V6..I own the Giulia Quadrifoglio and that thing sounds already very good (expecially compared to a standard M4) even if this represents for them what we can say .."a cheap car".

pity if true..
the rumors and even some mules that apparently show a shorter wheelbase seems to indicate the opposite
we will see..

Is there really this much disposable income in the world? I mean look at the Bentayga.. was hot for a year; now nothing. They can possibly move 10-15K units a year but beyond that who has this much cash to spend on car(s)?

Asking for a friend

I was told this in confidence but will not call out the manufacturer because this goes for everybody. But in a majority of countries luxury and performance vehicles tend to be leased more to avoid attention of tax collectors. And some cannot afford to buy outright.

And I was hoping for Ferrari Carbonara. It sounds exotic.:D
it sounds for sure better than Ferrari Kartoffeln don't you think?
sorry I couldn't resist..:D
Purosangue in my language sounds savage and good enough ..sorry for that, but I agree that their names sometime are funny..

Here in inItaly a lots of magazines and newspaper title "SUV and Dino are conming, despite J. Elkann was clear "No Dino, and I don' want to hear the word "SUV" near "ferrari"....
