I couldn't see driving a car any smaller then a 335i! I like the design of the 135i but not for someone 6'2 like myself! I doubt I'll see but a handful of men (high school boy's not included) driving them in the US.;)

I've been driving cars in same size as BMW 1-series for whole my life. 3-series is the biggest size I would buy. I dont need cars that are bigger than the 3-series unless I have a family.
So either 1-series or 3-series, smaller or larger cars I dont need.

Remember the first pics of the 135i coupe when if was not yet officially show with Hans Stuck stepping out of the car on the Ring??? That's a big guy (at least 6'2 I think)...

What I am trying to say is that the 135i is no Z4 coupe. It's a small car, sure, but there is quite a bit of room in an 1er when you're driving and there's noone sitting behind you...

I dont know centimeters this is: 6'2?
Im 184 cm tall I fit good in the front seat in a 1-series.

Bingo Just_Me, I have a wife and a 6 week old son, so you can see how the 1-Series wouldn't be practical right? I think you missed my point though, I could be wrong, I haven't seen the 1-Series IRL yet. I was only stating my opinion from what I see in my enviroment (New Jersey, New York, Philly PA) that's all. :usa7uh:

I also do not see the 1 series as a practical family car. Even my 3er is a tight fit when I have the in-laws.
I see most of the 1er target buyers as the singles and young crowd especially here in the US.

yes Im single so a 1er works perfect for me but I can still give others a ride once and a while. My parents have two cars and as a second car the 1er is perfect.

So basically 1er is good for singles and couples and its also good for those who want a second car.

I forgot that as well- thanks.
Yes, there will be the percentage of adults that want a 1er as a second car.

I would like to add that I think Europeans are more open for smaller cars than americans are. I also think its easier to sell a smaller car here than in US.

You guys, if you haven't noticed the 135i and the 335i are pretty much identical to each other in size from the front of the car to right after the front seats which means this car will have plenty of space up front and a little bit tighter second row and smaller trunk. And really this car is only 2 inches shorter bumper to bumper than an e46 3 series. I don't consider that to be small............i mean this is no mini.

I'd be all for the 135i based on price, but next to the 335i the 135i just isn't attractive.

Opposite here.

And J_M, 6'2 is more than 184 cm. You will not have a single problem with your length.

Hans-Joachim Stück, tall guy, 194 cm (6'3.6) seems to fit right into the 1-series coupé so I would think that most of us have more of a psychological problem fiting in it :D

Another thing about BMW in general and no less so the 1-series in that its just not photogenic - I find it really hard to find a picture of the 5-door that can do the car justice.

Price? Generally speaking, I believe that the 135 will be $35,000 while the 335 is a about $45,000 to $47,000 though I have my hopes of scoring a brand new 2008 or 2009 335xi for $41,000 once my 330xi lease is up 9/08.

The 135 is tempting, I will hold out for the testdrive and the see how I like the fit. I'm also really curious if the weight trimmings on the 135 make a difference.:eusa_pray

My question is, does the 135 even come with an all wheel drive option? I don't think it does. This may be what tips me towards the 335xi.

You're right: only RWD in the 1-series :eusa_danc
