Love the E39 the most, saw one the other day it's so handsome and doesn't even look dated...according to this pic,it also has the most pretty face.
Interesting point - I agree. I have read numerous pieces of text where acknowledged design experts have lauded the E60 for what it brought from an exterior design perspective.
And, I do recognise the significance of some of the details such as the introduction of complex, "flame" surfaces. But, as necessary as the E60's revolution was, for me it was too much of a revolution over one of my favourite BMW sedans of all - the safe yet still progressive (and lovely!) E39. To my mind, the E39 is BMW's W124.
The E60 really revolutionised the design
Some of you are saying the rearlights are big. To me they don't seem to be much larger than on previous car. On the new 5 they are slightly longer but smaller in width. The way I see it, the lights are similar in size. I think it's a picture issue, in real life the size won't be a problem.

I know it is a growing trend, but personally, I feel that the M550i xDrive should also be offered as an Excellence variant (as in the case of the M760Li xDrive V12) or as a stand-alone 550i model in Luxury Line.
as per scott this 5er was supposed to be carbon core to..As per Scott this is planned.
