SLK/SLC [Official] Mercedes-Benz SLK-Class

The Mercedes-Benz SLK-Class is a compact executive roadster, produced by Mercedes-Benz. It was released in 1996 and was built at the Mercedes plant in Bremen, Germany, until the end of production in 2020. The former name "SLK" was derived from sportlich (sporty), leicht (lightweight), and kurz (short). With the release of the facelift R172 in 2016, the SLK-Class was renamed to SLC-Class in accordance with the revised nomenclature adopted by Mercedes. Under this scheme, roadsters use the base name "SL", followed by the model's placement in Mercedes-Benz hierarchy, the letter "C", being the roadster equivalent to the C-Class.

Hmm i dont know..the interior and front is spot on..
but the rear is wierd with the dominant red part of the lights graphics..
Looks like a boxer with a swollen lip..

Im actually very dissapointed by this car, its very much in the same fashion as the existing, even the C class facelift is fresher.. and thats a FL..

I often say this about audi and some BMW cars..how will this car make a 6 year life cycle without looking very dated..
I guess this is true for this MB..first in a long time for me..

They will probably do a hefty FL half way through..it can not make it like this..

And it cant even dent the Z4´s armor.. when it comes to looks..
That car is a modern classic..

Yeah...the rear's going to take a little bit of time to get used to...looks bad in the autocar pics but looks pretty good here IMO.

Yeah looks better there.. im in between right now...

All i know is that i do NOT love it..

I might be able to live with it;)

This has to be the most generic looking MB ever. It's like they just ran out of ideas with this thing.

The pics in red do look good, but this design is just boring. It's like a Toyota. It's nice, but forgettable.

Completely Agree.

I like it, I like it alot. I do agree though that it won't knock off the Z4 in the looks department though, but that isn't because the SLK isn't good looking it is because its the same shape/concept since 2005, but updated. The Z4 took a dramatic uptick in styling wattage for the current generation.

It is also time for the SLS to have it's interior upgraded since the SLK appears to have the exact same design and even materials. Mercedes got lazy and/or cheap with that detail. SLS needs an upgrade now if not in materials, design for sure.

The AMG version should really pop.

Looks fine to me. Z4 looks horrible to me so this is perfect.

I think some of you got so excited about the CLS everything else just seems boring now. The rear is perfect.

The rear lights look too big and too heavy. Actually remind me of an Lexus LS in the profile.

The rear is what bothers me, the car is fine overall, nothing crazy and nothing bad. The Z4 to me actually in real life, doesn't look that great anyway. This is def an improvement over the current one.

the seats looks great, but the bumper part here that is at the top of the lower mesh and under the grill looks unfisnished or rough edged...

First Mercedes in a while that I absolutely detest. Shockingly bad from front to end. The interior is a carbon copy of the SLS, which does nothing for me. Do not like this car at all from what we have seen so far...

I totally agree with you.

The SLS-derived dashboard just doesn't work in the smaller SLK. As discussed before, the width of the instrument binnacle dictated the location of the COMAND monitor (not centred), and the eyeball air-con vents next to the monitor. The designers must have realised this in the CAD simulations but didn't do anything probably because the lead designers wanted to retain the appearance of the SLS dashboard.

Let's hope this car will look better in metal.

Look okey but nothing exciting. Z4 own the slk in design department.
Some lines on the hood looks like it taken from BMW. All in all, average design but nothing near the Z4.

Something tell me that the car will be a better drive than Z4.

Looks very familiar having common Merc essences! Looks like it has been around for quite some time! Looks great, however I'm lost. :eusa_thin

Or what? You won't buy it then, right? :D Please, tell me you're not serious about that.

Not very excited by the pics, smth tells IRL it'll look much better

I am very serious, there was no need to make a mini-SLS interior in the SLK. That said, I'd have the upcoming SLS roadster in a heartbeat if I could. I wouldn't care. Point is ultimately that the SLS should have a more bespoke interior.

Mb roadsters always share one line in interior design. Remeber R230,R171 and SLR - pretty much the same story.

That's it. I agree every word.

Doesn't look bad, sure. Doesn't look particularly good either. Interesting rear lights, that's it. Front is somehow too "friendly", rest is soft and forgettable.

The interior, with the center console not being centered with the screen/bulls-eye, is very disappointing.

I love the first SLK. I never liked the current one, seems this new gen won't change the things for me.

Uninteresting, generic, lazy.

That said, I never found the new Z4 particularly nice, despite having seen it IRL some times. But it is more interesting than the SLK, that's for sure.
