Supreme Roadmaster
My first time in Switzerland, my first time in Geneva and my first time at huge carshow like Geneva auto-saloon. Like you all already guessed I was extremly excited to go there.
I knew that Switzerland is an expensive country to live in, at least from my point of view. So I was expecting to see expensive cars on the road. The first car I saw on the way to the hotel, was a Maybach driving on the road. It's not a beautiful car but you won’t miss the car if you see one, its huge.
We checked into the hotel, left our luggage in our room and took the hotelbus to the carshow. We paid our entranceticket. Before we went inside to the hall rooms were the cars stood, we drank some water and ate a sandwich since we haven't ate for the whole day and after that we were ready to go watch the cars…
At the carshow in Geneva there are seven halls with cars so it's a huge place. Largest carshow I’ve been at. I’ve been told that Frankfurt is larger than Geneva but to me Geneva is big enough
The first car I saw or should I say took a picture on was a silver BMW 6er from Breyton. My first time seeing a Breyton but I liked what I saw.
Next cars I checked in was the Brabus stand and there we sneaked in to get closer look at the cars. Brabus based on S-class, R-class, B-class and Smart cars.
The Brabus S V12 S was an amazing car, black suit the S-class very well. The car is producing 730hp, 1.100 Nm from a 6.3 litre biturbo and electronically limited to 340 km/h. The perfect Autobahncruiser for those who find their regular S 600 slow and boring.
There were also a CLS V12 S with the same engine as S V12 S. The car was black, with black wheels. Im not a CLS fan but this one was pure evil, black exterior and black wheels takes this car to another level and the engine is also on a different level. This is a CLS I like a lot.
Over at Alpina Stand they had a B7, B6, B5 and a D3. All were blue, except the B7 which were grey. My first time to take a closer look on the new Alpina. They look clean and dont need big spoilers or bling-bling wheels, they are very elegant cars. The B6 is a beautiful Coupé, dare I say more pleasing for the eye to look at compared to the M6? Design is subjective but I liked the B6 and if I was going to buy an Alpina, the B6 would be my choice.
We went inside their stand and talked to one of the guys. A very nice person and he liked to talk about Alpina with us. He told me about a guy that own a B7 and a B5 and now he was first in line to buy the B6 as well. He seem to like Alpina a lot but I can't blame him. If you have good taste and money then go for it.
The BMW stand wasn’t far away from Alpina so we walked over there. BMW had many cars. White was popular, both Z4M Roadster, M5 and M6 were white. First time I see these in white and I was surprised how good they looked. The cars look very elegant and sporty and white is probably one of the best colours for the latest M cars. Both M5 and Z4M had black interiors while the M6 had red interior. The M6 looks very cool in white and the carbon roof gets very visible. The black pieces on the sidemirrors get more visible as well.
The new Z4M Coupé was there, world premiere at Geneva. The colour was LeMans Blue and suits the car very well. BMW claim this car is faster than M3 E46 around Nordschleife. The old Z3M Coupe had the same laptime as M3 E46 according to Sportauto so of course the new Z4M Coupe will be faster than both M3 and Z3M. The Z4M Coupe is for two people only, there is no backseat. If I wanted two BMW’s, the Z4M Coupe would be my second car. When I visit the track or want some fun, the Coupe is a perfect choice.
3-serie and 1-serie were there as well, all were equipped with sportpackage. One red 120d, blue 130i, blue 3-serie and a red 3-serie Touring.
A blue 130i with sportpackage is really hot. I wonder if there ever will be a M version of the 1er, I hope so.
BMW also had the 320si and it’s going to be build in only 2600 examples. The car on the show was Carbon black. The engine has 4-cylinders, developing 173hp and revs up to 7300 rpm. The car is going to be more involving to drive and faster than a regular 320i.
5er Touring and 650i Cabriolet were shown. The 6er Cabrio was black with light interior, very nice combination.
BMW also had their individual section with Z4 Roadster, 3-serie Touring and a 760li.
The exterior of the 3-serie Touring had a colour I haven't seen before. It's a new colour called Moonstone, I think the beast way to describe it colour is that it's a combination of silver and white. I like the colour and probably suits the M5 very well. The interior was very nice too, burgundy leather with pianoblack panels.
The 760Li individual had a great interior as well, pianoblack panels and white leather. It's a good thing that individual section exist. Make the cars looking exclusive and elegant.
Over at Mercedes section they had several cars but the ones that got my attention was the new S65 AMG and CLK63. I was disappointed that the new CLS63 wasn't there.
The S65 looks much better than standard S-class which I dont like very much but with the AMG package, the car is a good improvement. It's a car you won’t miss if you see one. I read a lot about this car and how nice the interior is but somehow I wasn’t that thrilled about it. It lacks exclusivness in my opinion.
CLK63 is a great looking car, must be a pleasure to drive. V8 and 481hp, yummy. The car was silver and the new spoilerkit looks good. Here the interior has some flaws as well, just like S65, some details feels or look cheap and noting I expect from Mercedes. But its okey, I would love to own one. Is this available with a seqventiell gearbox?
Audi had several world premieres, like the A6 Allround, RS4 Avant and RS4 Cabriolet. The RS4 is an awesome car, I sat in the RS4 Avant and those sportseats, WoW is all I can say, wicked, if you going fast in the curves those seats is going to help you not to fall off. I hope the new M3 gets similar seats. Taking photos was almost impossible. Everytime I visit Audi section to take photos on the Avant the car was full of people, got a lot of attention from everybody.
I now have my favorite luxury car, the new Audi S8. Both exterior and interior are perfect, nothing to complain on. Both the S65 AMG and 760Li are nice cars but they simply cant beat the S8 when it comes to beauty. The colour and the light leather is a perfect combination. The Bang&Olufsen soundsystem is awesome, the music from the loudspeaker was clean and pure. The S8 is simply the most beautiful luxury car today. I only wish there is a RS8 with horsepowers similar to the S65 AMG.
The Lamborghini section had a Gallardo and Gallardo Spyder, both black. The ”new” Murcielago LP640 were there as well. 640hp Lamborghini is never wrong, crazy car. I just wished they had a different colour on it. This grey colour was terrible and didn’t suit the car at all.
It’s always a pleasure to go watching Ferraris. They feel special and cars I dreamt about since I was just a kid. I have always liked the F430 since the first time I saw the photos, I prefer it over Gallardo. It doesn’t matter what colour the F430 use, it always look great.
They also had a 612 Scaglietti. I never liked 612 by waching pictures, I also seen a red and silver in real life but I never liked it. Here at the show they had a black one and black is the best colour I seen so far on the 612, it actually looks beautiful.
One of the biggest surprises on the show was the new 599 GTB. I hated the car everytime I looked at the photos and said to myself ”What have they done, 575M looks better than this”. Not anymore, I totally love the car, just looking at the photos dont do this car any justice. I now love the car and it's a worthy replacement for the 575 Maranello. I suggest people make up their mind if they like it or not when they seen the car in real life. Many of you will change your mind if you haven't found it attractive yet.
Next stop is the Pagani Zonda section. I was very excited to see the car for the first time. I heard a lot of good things about the car and now was finally the time to see if I liked it or not.
They had two Zonda F, one red and one where you could see all the Carbon and I think this was the clubsport version with 650 hp.
I really like what I saw, the car is amazing with lot of charisma and presence. I think the interior is a little bit overdesigned but it’s not a big deal. It looks great and the car must be a blast to drive. We went inside the Zonda section so we could take better pictures and close-ups. We talked to one of the Pagani guys and he said that since the dealer opened up in Switzerland they have sold 8 cars. We were also able to watch one of the monitors where they showed episode from Top Gear and Paganis own videos. They also showed the record laptime done by Sportauto around Nordschleife. The time for Zonda F is 7.32,00 min, the old record was done by Carrera GT with a laptime of 7.32,44 min. Extremly close between these two. Anyway, the Zonda F is a great looking car, just like everyone else say about it.
Next to the Zonda section they had the Buggatti Veyron and Koenigsegg CCX.
The Veyron was blue and with lot of presence. 1001 hp, who say's no to 1001hp? Insane car.
The Koenigsegg CCX is also a great car, I liked the silvergrey colour, here you could also see a lot of carbon. The car got a lot of attention. Media were there to film and interview people behind the car. We heard that just before the show started they sold one to a customer. This summer they are taking the car down to Nordschleife and to improve the laptime from the previous CCR which had a laptime of 7.34 min. Im certain they manage to make it.
Porsche had two world premiers, the new 997 Turbo and 997 GT3.
The Turbo was silver and it looks fantastic. 480hp, 0-60mph in 3.4 sec with the optional 5-speed Tiptronic S automatic transmission, with manual gearbox the car is slighty slower, 0-60mph in 3.7 sec.
The best looking Porsche at the moment is the new 997 GT3, they had this white GT3 and white is a perfect colour for the GT3. I was almost speechless when I first saw it, the car is drop dead gorgeous. I absolutly love the car. The 997 Turbo for everyday use and the GT3 for trackmeetings, awesome, simply awesome.
I’m definitely going to buy a lottery ticket today.
I also saw the Cayman for the first time and I wasn’t impressed, Z4M Coupe over this car anyday of the year.
Sportec had an extrem version of the Porsche 997. What a beast, black with black wheels. If you think your brand new 997 Turbo is boring and slow then Sportec has the cure for you. What about 806hp, 0-100km/h in 3.2 sec and 0-200km/h in less than 9 seconds. You like what you read? Well, empty your wallet and go buy one.
So what cars had the biggest impact on me?
In my opinion I have to say, Ferrari 599GTB, Porsche 997 GT3, S8, Alpina B6 and seeing three white M-models in the same room.
My grades on some of the cars:
Audi S8
Exterior: 5
Interior: 5
”S8 beats both S65 and 760Li when it comes to exterior and interior. I liked what I saw and couldn't find anything I didn't dislike. Audi S8 simply is the best looking luxury car at the moment. It only miss about 100 horsepower extra”
BMW 760Li Individual
Exterior: 4
Interior: 5
”The interior was amazing on this Individual 760li. White leather with pianoblack panels. BMW can build great interiors if they want too, it's a shame you need to pay extra for it.”
Mercedes S65 AMG
Exterior: 4
Interior: 4
”A S65 compared to a regular S500 is like night and day. Exterior wise the car looks like a real beast, I liked it. Interior wise I wasn't impressed. The layout of the dashboard and the colour combination didn't make me say WoW like I did in the S8.”
Zonda F
Exterior: 5
Interior: 4
”The exterior is awesome, looks brutal and fast and those Mickey Mouse sidemirrors aren’t bad afterall. I feel the interior to be a little bit overdone. It doesn't look ugly but a little bit flashy for me.”
BMW M5
Exterior: 5
Interior: 4
I have never seen a white M5 before and I was mighty surprised. It looks so clean and elegant. White is a good choice. It's nothing wrong with the interior and it would get 5 if it was red instead of black. Sitting in the car and you feel that this car is built with the driver in mind.”
Mercedes CLK63
Exterior: 5
Interior: 4
”I love how the car looks like, the best view is watching directly from the rear. The interior is nice and sporty but some of the materials and buttons felt cheap. It's a shame they didn't have CLS63 to compare with but I think I prefer CLK63.”
Audi RS4 Avant
Exterior: 4
Interior: 4
”I have to admit I prefer a Sedan over a Avant. RS4 Avant is a cool car but not my choice between the RS4’s. The Interior isnt in the same level as S8 but still very attractive. Those sporseats are superhot, you sit like a rock, very helpful around sharp curves. I hope the next M3 get similar seats found in the new RS4.”

Thanks for showing all those amazing pics and reviews from geneva, especially to all of us who couldn't be there.
This took some time to create...I hope you all enjoyed it.
