INTRODUCTION:
The new Aesthetic Path.

BMW are deeply convinced that designers should constantly seek for new aesthetic and expression languages, Interior design should challenge our sensibility and push the borders of conventions , Wood and leather is the conventional choice but a premium feeling can be obtained by using unconventional materials never before found in a car.

Automobile interior Design is innovation in all senses, is not a fixed formula of curves, shapes, colours , materials and proportions that can be proposed over an over because it is the recognizable interior features of any automobile.

The interior of a car should reflect it's aesthetic , Premium , Sporty and luxurious. There should always be an ethic, intelligent and functional support to all that: beautiful yes, high quality craftmanship yes but with substance.

Prt I : Take Your Seat : Innovation providing the best seat in the house.
Prt II : Progression of Leather and Wood : New Interior materials for a premium market.
Prt III : Design Concept BMW Gran Turismo "Shooting Brake" A new Conception in Interior Materials.

There are lot of existing things BMW should do for "Attention to detail".

First step should be to make leather as standard, not a premium option. For a premium car like BMW, leatherette(fake leather) as premium option is like telling buyers "you can always get a Lexus which has leather as standard".
That's what the guy I met on weekend told me, who drives a Lexus IS-F. He wanted M3 but ended up with IS-F as BMW wanted $$$ for every little thing which should be expected in a premium car.

Second step: An M3 comes with orange peel paint finish, an IS-F or flagship Lexus and Acura does not. They wet sand the paint. Go figure.

I agree driving pleasure is there, but not all drivers consider that, especially in these times.

Sample M3 pic which shows orange peel found on BMW paint finish. This is true of Benz too.
