So, any opinion on what car should/will take it?

:t-drive:

Imo, it would be either the Bmw Z4 or the new E-Class! :t-cheers:

Out of that list definitely Panemera IMO. It might not be the most graceful looking car, but it actually moves the game and brings something new to the table. Z4 looks good, but going by the the reviews really don't offer much else. E is just another boring MB sedan.

Just as a clarification, this is the award given by Car of the Year which is based in Europe. Votes are given to motor journalists from different countries based on the size of the car industry in each country.

There's no way the Panamera could win this, cost is an important factor in ECOTY and the Panamera is way too expensive to be a serious contender. I wouldn't rate the Z4's or 370Z's chances too high either... My money's on the C3 Picasso, although I don't think I've ever gotten this right, besides it's going to be the iQ anyway... :eusa_thin

BMW Z4 or Porsche Panamera!! Probably it will be the new W212 or could also imagine that it is going to be the VW Polo!

You guys are all mental. Of course it's going to be the new diabolically handsome Subaru Legacy.

Pfff...muhahahaha. NOT!

I believe it will most likely be the new VW Polo. Too strong a combination of award-winning/nominated engine offerings coupled with exceptional build quality for its segment. Toyota's IQ may be in with a shout because of its fresh approach to city transport and the new E-Class will be a very strong contender because of its inherent appeal as a past and present master of human transportation.

Maybe some guidance could be had from past years winners?

we are just dreaming:D

PS
Its amazing to see that audi and MB only won ONCE in all those years..and Bmw none...

I'm predicting that the award goes either to the E-Class or the Z4.

Why?

E-Class: One of the most (if not the most) technologically advanced cars ever. From what I've heard, it drives amazingly well, much better than the predecessor.

Z4- IMO the most stunning looking new BMW. First class interior as well.
