I`d like to know some of your opinions about the style of the W212 E-Class and how it might compare with the W124 E-Class.
Sure it has some of the latest MB design fads, but it also possesses square shapes both inside and out that slightly echo the W124 E-Class with a funky retro twist.

Do you agree or not. Feel free to post pics for comparison and voice your opinions. Im at a rush right now. Here is a start.

In those pics you can see a slight similarity, but the same look is also present in the GLK also. I still don't think this is a deliberate effort on MB's part to go back to the W124's design era.

I really think they want to go back to that era..
for example the roof for the cluster looks identicall..

It's not like MB are jumping into a time machine and rewinding the date to 1990. The design and shape of the w212 is without a question neo-retro. Rather than being boxy and jagged like the GLK the new E is upright and quite square shaped like the W124. The similarities cannot be denied.

This cluster shape has been present in many Mercedes. It was a constant design cue like the stripped taillights and I am happy it could return.
