So I walked into a car dealership yesterday...

^Nope, 2.0 TFSI. There's an annual tax on diesels in Finland, which meant that a diesel just wouldn't have made sense for us on this car.

Congrats Mike! These Skoda Octavia are highly underrated. Car looks great with the sports pack and the red calipers. Also nice to see you are keeping your Saab 9-3, how is that going? Any reliability issues?

^Thanks mate. The Saab hasn't been exactly problem-free, I had to replace several suspension parts (not just the usual bits) and the turbo last year. I'll be keeping that car for a few more months, it'll eventually be replaced by something frugal for my wife whose new job requires a lengthy commute.

I thought you got a Porsche, too, as is usual with GCFers lately, but that's still quite a good purchase. I only have a short experience with your car's smaller brother, the 1.4TFSI, but it's maybe the most value for money offer in its class. Indeed, with 200hp it's quite quick!

I wish you many and happy miles!

:)

Thanks guys.
I really found the car by accident, it had just arrived and they hadn't even decided on what to ask for it when I walked in. And it's not like they're exactly common here, there are currently only eight 2.0 TFSI Combi's on sale in the whole country (many more diesel vRS's though)... to find one that is in great condition and has an extensive service history at the car dealership nearest to my house was quite a surprise.
