Ghost Rolls-Royce Ghost Series II

The Rolls-Royce Ghost is a full-sized luxury car manufactured by Rolls-Royce Motor Cars. The "Ghost" nameplate, is named in honour of the Silver Ghost, a car first produced in 1906. The production model was officially unveiled at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show. The Ghost Extended Wheelbase was introduced in 2011. During development, the Ghost was known as the "RR04". It was designed as a smaller, "more measured, more realistic car" than the Phantom, aiming for a lower price category for Rolls-Royce models.

Following the teaser released last week, Rolls-Royce has unveiled the Ghost Series II at the Geneva Motor Show. The first facelift in the history of this model is a subtle one, with the most obvious change taking place on the front end, where the headlights receive a different shape.
The re-sculpted LED headlights are encircled by daytime running lights and add to other changes like the tapered “wake channel” on the bonnet that hints at the car’s dynamism. The bumpers have also been subtly revised, creating a stronger stance and a sense of extra width and height. The front air intakes now feature chrome inserts, while the famous waft line has been redesigned to lean further forwards.

Rolls-Royce offers new optional 21-inch forged wheels besides the standard 19-inch wheels, as well as an optional monogrammed stainless-steel fuel-filler cap.

On the inside, the Ghost Series II features redesigned seats with electronically adjustable thigh supports for front passengers. The rear seat was also revised to improve comfort, while in “lounge seat” configuration the seats are gently angled towards each other to create a more intimate setting. The instrument dials and clock have also undergone subtle enhancements.

New features include on-board Wi-Fi, Satellite Aided Transmission (SAT), updated car/user interface and navigation systems, as well as the addition of an optional Bespoke Audio.

Rolls-Royce’s Spirit of Ecstasy figurine is now reproduced within Ghost Series II’s cabin depicted below the crystal glass surface of the new rotary controller. The Spirit of Ecstasy Rotary Controller presents a touch pad, with the ability to write characters by finger, as well as the ability to scroll through function menus by turning the chrome dial and pressing down to select its functions.

Nothing changed under the hood, with the Ghost Series II being powered by the same 563hp (570PS) 6.6-liter V12 engine.

Did I just see it shit on the S-Class? Woahhh!
What was once amazing is now simply perfect!

@Star&Car He might be referring to fanboy posts like mine stating that the S-Class is better than both the Ghost and the Mulsanne at the launch of the W222. Now the Ghost is clearly the real winner. Pre-FL I'm not so sure :)

I love the S-Class and it is currently my favorite sedan (and the best sedan IMO) on the road, but this Ghost is just on a different level of panache. It is just so decadent and extravagant, like a proper RR should be.

BTW, I love they have a WOMAN driving! When I get my Ghost, it will most certainly be my daily driver.

There is something to be said about the presentation of a Rolls-Royce. Nothing really compares outside of a Bentley. Though just as it has always been, a Mercedes S-Class is superior car technically.

^2nd that..and i never liked the interiors on these new RRs.. its looks like old furniture with drawers type of deal..

A little bit disappointed with the interior, expected to see a bit chrome or aluminium finishes and switches.

They use frosted glass with LEDs in a kind of Art Deco interpretation. More expensive and again on a much higher level. The detailing you would expect from a Rolls-Royce.
The Ghost has been very successful and Series II aims to prolong that success.

At Rolls-Royce in Goodwood they even have a Wraith in the same colours as the launch car in Claret. Some lucky owners will have both.

I see it and it's beautiful. I was thinking more for the switches. The i drive buttons coulda used some chrome or something.

Still not a fan of the interior, there are simply too many conflicting shapes and buttons being randomly sprinkled around, and it is starting to look dated now.

i think this generation of say Phantom and Ghost are still going the traditional way using old-school styled interior designs but i do hope that in the next full re-design, or other upcoming models, they will find some much more modern way to interpret the tradition.
