Ghost Rolls-Royce Ghost

The Rolls-Royce Ghost is a full-sized luxury car manufactured by Rolls-Royce Motor Cars. The "Ghost" nameplate, is named in honour of the Silver Ghost, a car first produced in 1906. The production model was officially unveiled at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show. The Ghost Extended Wheelbase was introduced in 2011. During development, the Ghost was known as the "RR04". It was designed as a smaller, "more measured, more realistic car" than the Phantom, aiming for a lower price category for Rolls-Royce models.
^^
As I have pointed out before, the Ghost is a mirror of Bentley Continental GT concept marrying British luxury with cost saving German engineering. Hence the accessable price in comparison with uncompromised Mulsanne and Phantom which have close to zero visible components from a German car.

And that's definitely not a bad think…just wondering that it was a nearly one to one conversion - but you're right. Just forget about the Conti series of Bentley. Some parts can be also found on the Phaeton etc. :usa7uh:

I envy the lucky few born in an oil rich country or has the HRH / HSH title or maybe the few that has made millions from sports or film who can afford this MASTERPIECE!

I think this is the car I will "dream" for.

Kind of nice to have that again. I've been so content and happy at owning my current dream cars (Mercedes E-Class, and yes, they have always been one of my dream cars), but I guess it was a matter of time before something that cost multiple time more than it, would pop up into my head. :eusa_doh:

And so it begins. At least I have what is about the next best thing, to my personal needs/tastes.

Very Good.

It's basically a "nothing to see here move along" facelift subtle changes to keep the car fresh, if you order a Ghost today you still wait 12 months for delivery. That is how successful and popular Ghost has become. Ghost series II is not a carry over of the Wraith although the detail changes on the front of the Wraith will be reversed for the Ghost.

New LED headlights subtler disguised by moulds of the existing car cover the full length of the headlights and there are other subtle Wraith influenced changes such as new wheels, colours and trims.
The Satellite aided transmission will also be offered but the power output in the Wraith , remains exclusive to that car.

The Wraith is now officially sold out into 2014 now the first allocations have now been sold as since Geneva , the car has been on a global tour attracting custom from Hong Kong , Dubai , New York and even at its launch in Shanghai which also celebrated the launch of the worlds largest RR dealership.

Right now at RR , the work has begun on testing the next Phantom , the next generation V16 is being tested in existing Phantoms without any camouflage and exterior design work is progressing to the final stages.

I would be very surprised if BMW/RR is actually developing a V16 that will probably find no use in any other car besides the next Phantom.

They will most probably only upgrade the already existing V16 engine :)

What existing V16? The one in 100Ex or BMW Goldfish?- One is old, other is super old and I doubt either is production ready or meets modern emission standards. If the RR does get a V16 (and I have my doubts it will), it will probably be a new twin turbo unit based on N74.

I love when the rich have enough money to allow batshit crazy stuff like that to happen.

The one in the Phantom driven by Mr. Bean :)
Which was originally planed to be the production version of the Phantom.
thats like 10 years old, they need to figure out how to strap turbos on it, put stuff like valvetronic, emissions reducing stuff, etc... ofc producing brand new v16 is even more costly, but might be a better solution. Anyway, i would love for this to happen
