^ + 1. The 5er GT looks much more fresh and modern. When I see one in the nighttime in particular, with the LED headlights and awesome backlights. The interior is on another level too. X6 feels old compared to th GT. It is old compared to it in fact.

Last week I was sitting in this car. All I can say is one huge W-O-W!!!! I was astonished by its individual and extraordinary design, interior quality and the most positive impression was the rear seat room! First I was sitting in the driver's seat where I moved the seat backward to the limit since I'm 2 meters tall. After that, salesperson asked me to switch the position and to sit in the rear. I can't tell you how astonished I was when I found out that I had more room for my precious legs in 5 GT than in my 7er.. As he explained me, 5 GT is more spacious than the regular 7er and less roomy than the L version of 7 series. Finally I want say that if you are looking for a sort of "incognito" car which will give you a comfort on the level (or even greater) of 7 series and if you appreciate indviduality, you won't make mistake by purchasing 5 GT
But the 5er GT is far from incognito It's the biggest BMW ever made, and is much more of an attention grabber than your 7er is imo...
Though IMO the X6 design is breathtaking and I just enjoy spending time behind the wheel of mine and I love the interior & quality, there is no mistaking the 5 GT as superior in every respect to ALL it's siblings including the range topping F01 7 series I M O !!!! The 5 GT has to be seen and savored in real life to come to terms with my statement and the opinion of Nenadm87 and yourselves Klier....simply a master of many trades the 5 GT:t-cheers:
That's true. And the X6 is not exactly old, but it's missing eye catching tech like the black panel display and LCD dials, making it look like an in between or sort of car. It's not exactly a Bangle design interior, but not exactly in the style of the new F cars either...
I saw several of them IRL, and they're as boring as a sleeping pill. The front is too soft, windscreen too tall, glasshouse too big, rear just weird, and on the whole they don't evoke anything but boredom. The proportions are completely off. Beetween this and the sexy X6, no hesitation! And honestly, if you ask me to choose between a sensual shape and a bit of black panel for the gauges... C'mon. That said... There is no way in hell I would choose any of those two instead of a 5er Touring, which is just world's better at everything.
Might be, but people will stare less at the 5 GT owner than at the owner of 7er.. That's what I meant when I said "incognito"
You're right, it's a quite discrete car, it's not showy or anything. You don't really see the size, it looks significantly smaller than an X6 or 7er.
Yeah, the interior is pretty cool. I got to sit in one a while back. A friend of mine got to drive one for a recent event and he stopped by to show it to me. Funny thing we couldn't unlock it via comfort access due to the interference from the ESB. I had to use the metal key in the fob to unlock it (my friend didn't even know there was an emergency key in there ). It happens to a lot of cars around the neighborhood, not just the Beemer.
That is very true about a lot of people not knowing about the emergency key. I've heard countless stories of mothers losing the plot because their kids were locked in the car. Maybe BMW dealerships should point this out on purchase of the car?
Incredible. Three days ago I spotted two 5er GT in one day. Today I spotted a third one. Seem to be a popular car. I've seen more of them than I see a R-class on the streets. Timing is everything and BMW seem to 'time' it better than MB did.
