E-Class W212 Mercedes W212 E-Class Facelift: Renders, Spyshots, Etc

The W212 and S212 Mercedes-Benz E-Class series is the fourth generation of the E-Class range of executive cars which was produced by Mercedes-Benz between 2009 and 2016 as the successor to the W211 E-Class. The body styles of the range are either four-door sedan/saloon (W212) or a five-door estate/wagon (S212).

My views is the opposite from yours. I have several friends who like Mercedes but find the 5-series to be more attractive. So what you have experienced doenst mean much IRL. So the comment you made about 5-series made me laugh a little becuase you obviously just guessing or hope thats the case with the 5-series ;) You just have to accept that the 5-series is appreciated all around the world and not just on GCF :) Also you make it sound like 5-series is selling because of the badge, I hope you understand the same goes for E-class.

You can laugh all you want. Fact is, I have an E, and you don't have either, so my "real life" data is more personal. If anything, you may be describing yourself in terms of accusations of "guessing or hoping". I ask many people about both cars as it's an interest to me, and I've just never heard anyone in "real life" show much passion for the F10 design.... the design just doesn't really ask for it. An M-Pack with a sharp color, very nicely equipped, yes, I can see that, but most F10's out here are 528i's with small wheels, no Sport Package, and you couldn't pick one out in a parking lot (I actually like how BMW does this as the M Sports actually command some specialness while the AMG Packages have lost theirs due to genericness, but the presence is the presence, and for whatever factors, the E has it). The pre-facelift W212 will always have that distinctive quality, if nothing else. BMW has the 5-Series going for almost under $500 to Lease, with little down, and a very low residual.... it's much cheaper to get into than an E-Class, which is something to consider when comparing sales, at least out here.

Christ dude, relax. I dont own a E-class but I know people who does own both E-class and F10. I dont live in my house all alone , all day reading the newspaper. I know you like the E-class, nothing wrong but you are way too defensive. You need to chill and accept that people like and buy 5-series without trying to explain why they do. Fact remain and yes its a fact, no guess, last 6 months worldwide, both A6 and 5er sold better than E-class. And if Mercedes wants to keep up in sales they need to do something about it.

I don't think we have an issue about "relaxing" unless it's you who's getting bent ("laughing" at those who say how much more desire people show for the E in their real life experiences, for example). Some people here like yourself bust into threads staunchly defending the apparent second-coming that is the F10, and then some say that's not the case, and that the case is otherwise. Simple as that.

I just think that focusing on worldwide sales as a measure of design success is once again.... a terrible point. So many other things at play here than that, especially in this segment. The Midsize Luxury Sedan segment probably gets the least amount of enthusiasts buying them, it's like the "Honda Accords of Beverly Hills", to quote some magazine article out there. If anything, in this segment, the blander the styling, the more worldwide sales. If I'm not mistaken, the W211 outsold the E60 worldwide which also shows that point. Regardless, I don't think styling is what's hurting the E worldwide.... I'd say that's the last thing that's hurting it, considering how many technical things the competitors do better.

Yes I defend the F10 because certain E-class owners keep on comparing there E-class with a F10 over and over again. I react to this so those people dont think their opinion is the only thing that matters because thats what it sounds like.
You guys need to be taken down to earth sometimes with your wild opinions ;)

I agree, design doenst matter all the time. Never said so. Both F10 and E-class have their appeal and they are equally good in my opinion. Its just that F10 is the best seller currently. It might change bacuase I think the biggest threat is Audi A6 and the next upcoming sales leader.

The facelift is not as bad as i thought, but the car will loose some of his typical design-character, the legendary ''vier augen gesicht'' (and yes i know that the e-class also had just 2 lights: thw w124,w123 etc., but still..) and the very dynamic front look (wich fot my opinion is simply the BEST LOOKING FRONT EVER, especialy in white with the /////AMG package - just gorgeus!).
Now a 'amateur' can think that this is ''just'' an C-class....

w212 has very good advantage in styling thanks to no charge Sport trim option, when M-sport, F-sport and S-line cost $4000 from BMW, Lexus and Audi. If you compare apples to apples it will be a different story.

That render looks very sexy the single light design retains that aggressiveness and that grille buldges out just like on the w222

Compared to the pre-facelift:)

Is definitely looks more luxurious, but NAV screen looks way to small compare to F10 and GS.
I also noticed that it looks no bigger than that big galaxy note phone, and for navigation to come standard on this car it should have been a lot bigger

wow interior love the wood I still don't get the complains on MB Screens...I Think they perfect fit..

Yes and they even have the display in the middle of the speedometer, which is now in FULL colour, that is integrated with the command unit and displays additional information in a very convenient location. The BMW's do not have this, relying rather on splitting a bigger i-drive screen into two, to display this information.

I believe the MB solution is superior and I always miss that node of information in the speedometer area when I'm driving a BMW.

i didnt even notice that this whole time the pre FL w212 didnt have a clock between the air vents like the S CLS and CL

If that is the case, then I agree. It is true that in new cars screens become way to big.

The CLS has a very plush and organic interior. Hard to fathom it was conceived not much after the E's stark, even austere interior.

That area between the vents has been SCREAMING for an analogue clock since the car was released.
