My views is the opposite from yours. I have several friends who like Mercedes but find the 5-series to be more attractive. So what you have experienced doenst mean much IRL. So the comment you made about 5-series made me laugh a little becuase you obviously just guessing or hope thats the case with the 5-seriesYou just have to accept that the 5-series is appreciated all around the world and not just on GCF
Also you make it sound like 5-series is selling because of the badge, I hope you understand the same goes for E-class.
You can laugh all you want. Fact is, I have an E, and you don't have either, so my "real life" data is more personal. If anything, you may be describing yourself in terms of accusations of "guessing or hoping". I ask many people about both cars as it's an interest to me, and I've just never heard anyone in "real life" show much passion for the F10 design.... the design just doesn't really ask for it. An M-Pack with a sharp color, very nicely equipped, yes, I can see that, but most F10's out here are 528i's with small wheels, no Sport Package, and you couldn't pick one out in a parking lot (I actually like how BMW does this as the M Sports actually command some specialness while the AMG Packages have lost theirs due to genericness, but the presence is the presence, and for whatever factors, the E has it). The pre-facelift W212 will always have that distinctive quality, if nothing else. BMW has the 5-Series going for almost under $500 to Lease, with little down, and a very low residual.... it's much cheaper to get into than an E-Class, which is something to consider when comparing sales, at least out here.
