BMW Compactive Tourer - spy pics & info

but use mobile devices to stream & play audio & video. Regular TVs will die off. In the next few years TVs will be transformed in huge in-house displays for mobile devices, which will serve as remote controls, keyboards & touchpads.

OT plug, but this is what our start up is working on, we will launch in couple of months. I will post here when it is ready. :)

Scheduled TV programs will be for Opas & Omas only.

Yeah, but only when I am an Opa. And that will not be anytime soon.

Either way, there is a whole lot of off topic nonsense in this thread suddenly.....where did it go wrong?

And therefore the Z generation mainly doesn't watch TV anymore ... but use mobile devices to stream & play audio & video. Regular TVs will die off. In the next few years TVs will be transformed in huge in-house displays for mobile devices, which will serve as remote controls, keyboards & touchpads. And cloud solutions will bring even more on-demand content. Scheduled TV programs will be for Opas & Omas only.

How many of you still use dedicated home hi-fi system? Or it's more or less reduced to a surround system for TV, playstation & mobile devices? Things change. Trends change. Some products & solutions die off, and some new ones emerge.

I agree that there is a massive paradigm shift in products that govern our social lives. However driving is governed by law and thus gadgets in cars will always be subject to regulations that minimize distraction. Therefore cars will retain their focus on driving as opposed to being another device for tickling your Xbox Live avatar or pinning pictures of cup cakes, wedding dresses and kittens on Pinterest.

Moving back to the matter in hand...
Autobild have spoilt the party in regards to the preview of the BMW CST.
Here you have possibly the best example of how the car will look.

The CST will also be joined at Paris with another concept ...
The BMW 3er Gran Turismo.
BMW_CONCEPT_SIDE_VIEWS_K-D38R8Z6.webp

The 3er Gran Turismo is seen as the alternative to a sedan a car for what the customer needs in flexibility but without the utility of a wagon. Someone who I know recently attended a VW clinic for the next generation Passat. And apparently a hatch will be offered for the very first time in years, VW also list the 3er GT as a potential rival for the Passat as these types of cars are very popular in Europe.

As BMW focus on product and profitable product at that as both vehicles are born from the latest modular matrixes developed for MINI/BMW UKL and the F20/F30 series respectively.
The arrival of the BMW CST paves way for a new generation of MINI family that will for the first time entirely be profitable.
As current margins are razor thin , MINI makes its money from the wide range of personalisation options currently.
With the addition of a new profitable platform , MINI profits will increase and will add to the profit generated from personalisation. The BMW CST will be direct competition to the successful Premium "space" vehicle - The Mercedes-Benz B-Klasse.

CAT FEP prototypes are about to hit the roads, I've been told ... I'm sure photos will hit the net very soon. I guess in a week or two; days perhaps ...

First 2er prototypes (coupe & cabrio) are also almost ready to hit the roads in the next weeks; and X4 prototypes also being ready for the first public road appearance - expect them sometimes in the Fall. Fall will also premiere first FEP 4er prototypes.

A single X5 EWB prototype has also been spotted in BMW FIZ garage, I've been also told. X7 mule, or there will actually be an X5 L??? Puzzling.

The 3er GT FEP is out on the streets. Some publications already have the shots.
There is an all new BMW venturing out in public for the first time. Something we have not seen yet.

The M3 is on exact schedule because if you go back to the M5 in 2010 or indeed the M6 in 2011 you will see prototypes discarding their disguises one bit at a time.
The FEP 4er Coupe will be on the roads publically in the autumn. Although it could be snapped heading to Miramas.

Yes it is true that there are extended drivetrain mules of the X5 , BMW are moving ahead with the X7
And now internally testing is Rolls-Royce's DropHead variant of the Ghost.

Well, it has been leaked already. Too bad :D

Also, I like what I'm seeing. It's a fancy concept and the production car will be more dull, but still. Congrats on the first real competition to the VW Golf?!?!

LOL.

Poor AutoBild. They were too fast this time, posting the real deal on their internet sites, and by so breaking the embargo on publishing.

BMW are not happy at all. There was an intervention and AB was forced to kill the link to pdf of latest AB mag issue cover, and to erase the official photo of the Concept car (although AB rendered it just slightly to avoid conflict by publishing "CGI" and not the official BMW press photo) from the pic of latest AB cover.

The production car will differ slightly: eg. expect halogen & xenon headlights, not LED ones; different side mirrors (identical which can be found on other latest BMW cars); standard BMW pull-out door handles located in the shoulder line; non-concept rims; no extra chrome decor; toned-down air intakes; and production interior with regular production seats, cockpit, trim etc.

But apart from that ... this is it. :)

The production car still looks zillion times better than B-class. Be sure. BMW expect to sell huge numbers of this little van. It's extremely roomy for a BMW, despite its compact size. And it's practical as well. And ... looking extremely good. BMW have a real winner here.

I must say, it's very nice for a BMW minivan, much better than the bland B-Class IMO. I hope the 1er LCI will get much more attractive front fascia especially the headlights like its GT siblings.

What was the concepts "official" name? " 1 Series Compactive Tourer " " 1er GT" ??

And this is what will power it
