M3/M4 [Spy Shots] 2014 BMW M3 (Impressions, SpyPhotos, Renderings)

The BMW M3 is a high-performance version of the BMW 3 Series, developed by BMW's in-house motorsport division, BMW M GmbH. M3 models have been produced for every generation of 3 Series since the E30 M3 was introduced in 1986. The BMW M4 is a high-performance version of the BMW 4 Series automobile developed by BMW's motorsport division, BMW M, that has been built since 2014. As part of the renumbering that splits the coupé and convertible variants of the 3 Series into the 4 Series, the M4 replaced those variants of the BMW M3. Official website: BMW M
I like the fact that it will be getting CF seats as standard

Not standard as the US market demands the luxuries such as power seats and even a sunroof will be available for the M3 and M4. Although I don't think anybody in Europe will order the sunroof especially when the double groove CFRP top looks so good.

The M3 CRT was the work out for the F80/ F82 in terms of further applications of lightweight materials .
The new car is not just about numbers but the perfect response of balance and ultimate precision.
The lightweight materials count in the new cars shows how BMW have invested wisely in the mass production of CFRP and shows an exciting future which will not only make the M cars more exclusive but offer an advantage in the application lightweight technology in a vehicle of this segment.

I didn't know the EU market didn't demand luxuries.

In a ratio of 9 out of 10 customers in Europe. These customers ordered the CFRP roof. In the US its about 7 out of 10.

Some customers prefer luxuries the world over but would you order an M4 Coupe with powered leather seats or take the optional CFRP Performance seats?

Again it is down to the customers preference but I would go for the CFRP seats because in the CRT they are exceptional.

While we are stereotyping, yes, I agree the US market in general prefer more luxury, but at the same time the enthusiast crowd in the US is probably even more hard core. The problem is the dealers/US branch of the companies are usually a step behind. There are lot of examples -
The demand for manual in the US in sports cars.
997.1 GT3 was available in US only with sunroof, created a big uproar and PCNA had to reverse it's decision.
991 GT3 bucket seats is not available in US, again created lot of noise and AFAIK, PCNA is working on making it available next year.

So please do us a favour and make sure the bucket seats are available in the US at least as an option for M3/M4.

They need to be more vocal.

^I don't think he means be vocal here, but with your dealer and BMW NA. But then again why do I have to, it is easier to vote with your wallet.

Only question is what type engine is under the bonnet?

If it is sad V6, then 1M is last straight six M-car and e9X last naturally aspirated M-car. Future collector cars both.

BMW M

BMW M GmbH, formerly known as BMW Motorsport GmbH, is a subsidiary of BMW AG that manufactures high-performance luxury cars. BMW M ("M" for "motorsport") was initially created to facilitate BMW's racing program, which was very successful in the 1960s and 1970s. As time passed, BMW M began to supplement BMW's vehicle portfolio with specially modified higher trim models, for which they are now most known by the general public. These M-badged cars traditionally include modified engines, transmissions, suspensions, interior trims, aerodynamics, and exterior modifications to set them apart from their counterparts. All M models are tested and tuned at BMW's private facility at the Nürburgring racing circuit in Germany.
