This will debut at the NYC autoshow in April, not that far away. This time next year Mercedes will be flush in new products. The GL will also debut real soon, I'd say like June 2012. Then comes the E and GLK facelifts and then the S-Class. Exciting times.

Hmmm, this has me as excited as a FWD BMW.

I understand why they are doing this and I'm sure I'm beating a dead horse by now, but that doesn't make me anymore happy about their decision of having more FWD cars in their stable.

The profile looks a bit cleaner than the CLS (not really hard, though), altough I don't like the way the upper line ends in the wheelarch.
I just can't diggest Merc's design theme, present and -seems- future. I f*cking love the brand, have the DNA all over my blood but just can't live with such flashy, arrogant, vulgar, look-at-me design.

I try to like, but can't fall in love.

Auto Zeitung interpretation is not bad.
They should consider changing the name instead of the BLS - sounds like short for bull$h!t. :D

^^^nah, I can already see the ad campaign for this...."Driving the BLS is pure BLISS!" or something like that. In fact, I'm going to copyright that and try to get some of that sweet, sweet moolah.....daddy needs a new pair of shoes and some socks too!

We are sure it will be called CLC not BLS, besides BLS is already a name registred by Cadillac.

    BLS - BulLShit

BLS is a terrible name. It reminds me of a very irrelevant Cadillac.

^^^ Maybe our mods can change the thread title to "Mercedes-Benz CLC Coupé" or some such? ;) THANK YOU!

    2013 Mercedes-Benz CLC Shooting Brake

    Mercedes CLC and GLC

The new model names are fixed now

With the GLC and the Mercedes CLC Coupé the Stuttgart-based automaker will add two new model lines in 2013. The names for the two model lines based on the new Mercedes A-Class are fixed now. As Auto Motor und Sport already reported, the platform of the A-and B-Class is extended by three model lines. That way there are the 2013 Mercedes CLC - once as a four-door coupé - and also as the CLC Shooting Brake. They will be based on the very successful CLS, which is also to have in the future a Shooting Brake version. With a length of 4.60 meters the CLC reaches almost mid size proportions.

Mercedes CLC with an elegant interior and AMG as well

As with the new B-Class this new Mercedes CLC Coupé also places emphasis on a noble interior design, coupled with numerous assistance systems.

In terms of propulsion, a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox (DCT) or six-speed manual gearbox is offered, powered by a 156-hp 1.6-liter four-cylinder and one in comparison to the A-and B-class stronger diesel engine, where 109 or a whopping 136 hp will do. The CLC and the CLC Shooting Brake will be available in AMG trim. Here, a turbocharged four-cylinder engine with 300 horsepower secures the mobility.

    Done, thanks for the tip.

The banana shape works like a charm on the CLS because it has a long body. I'm a bit worries that the shape will look contrived on the CLC given that it's body size will be on par with the compact C-Class. If the arch isn't too high the car might get away with not looking like a hedgehog or a two door Beetle.
