The Aventador has a test weight of 1897kg (with driver and equipment I guess)! Amazing discrepancy in the claim and test weights for both Ferrari and Lambo...

right: QR adds 100 Kgs for all. tested kerb weights are:
F12: 1,699 Kgs
Avent: 1,797 Kgs
F12 is 98 Kgs ligher than Aventador, about 50 lighter than 599 GTB and about 75 Kgs heavier than 599 GTO

...transmission disavantage?
even so, weight-disavantage is a defect, not an excuse
...F12 does very well despite is less extreme, more use friendly, no AWD (very useful @ Vairano), fornt engine and no CF-chassis ;)... and no PZero Corsa: after 20 days I cannot find any mention about tyres

Mid-front engine is an advantage. The fastest cars have their engine in front (mid-front): ACR, ZR1, GT-R, LFA,...

ahahahahahahahahahah :hilarious:
someone explain him why from 50 years Formula1s are mid engine (before were front engine...)
someone explain him why the extremest car today are mid engine (LaFerrari, Mc P1, Porsche 918, McLaren F1, CarreraGT, Bugatti Veyron, Pagani zonda and Huayra, Lambos)
LF-A is not the fastest car, and ACR si really fast becaus has incredidly estreme setup and downforce

YES! I love you, mate! Always making my day/night :)
You love that LFA too much. If only I could give you a ride in a real supercar one day :P

PS: Just see what Gianclaudio will quote/fix in my post now :D

Well, I have always been more of a wannabee Ferrari guy, than a wannabee Lamborghini guy, so it comes as no surprise that I enjoy the fantasy dream of an F12 more than the one of owning the Aventador, but, hey, couldn't the good people in Bologna have found something a little bit more fresh than those 2002-ish drawings to use as the base for the car?

LOL.

And why do you think all Formula, Le Mans/prototype cars have mid rear engines? ;)

By the same token, there are many races where both front mid-engine, front engine and rear mid-engine are mixed with on regulation as to which type of setup is the regulation. An example is, all types of endurance races (Le Mans, Nurburgring, VLN etc.). If you look at the history of the top winners in the previous years, many of the time you will see it is a front engine or front mid-engine car winning the races over rear mid-engine. In many cases, a rear-engine car like GT3 Cup car winning the race overall.

An example, LFA and 458 Italia challenge both compete in SP8 class, yet LFA won over the 458 Italia in the SP8 class in the 2 years of Nurburgring endurance they both went head to head in with the same regulations applied to both cars (restrictors, near-stock weight, tires etc.)

Case in point, it is the totality of the car that truly matters and how the package is put together. Otherwise, a GT3 Cup should never win any race since the inherently most inferior setup it has. With that engine swinging wildly behind the rear axle like a pendulum, it turns physics upside down.
