OK since I am now on assignment , please leave your questions you want to ask.

I should have informed Guido earlier to the non-appearance of the M1 earlier since the focus was on the 5er which is why the car was kept for Geneva.
In a market especially when your products have felt the brunt of the economic climate the focus was on cars that were coming to the market. Cars that will be sold to customers not something you have to wait for.
At Geneva nearly every manufacturer who had a new car or even a concept stuck to the current trend of either a Concept using full Hybrid or Mild hybrid drivetrains.

As for the M1? well I am not going to mention this car just let the facts talk for themselves and the evidence you have seen.
The first announcement was in the Autocar magazine (Which is UK) I believe, not me. I carried on when that news had went public. I did not break that story.

Fine, let's do a short summary on what we've got that speaks for an M1 so far and what we've got that speaks against it:

Taken from South.

Dr Kay Segler, CEO of BMW ///M, told German Auto Motor und Sport in November 2009:
"Currently, we concentrate on evaluating the feasibility to produce an M variant based on the current generation 1 series. [...]
Usually, the development for such a car needs 3 years. But, we're planning to communicate the first details on the car around Christmas 2010
with its market launch scheduled for Spring 2011".

Ok just post a question and I will do my best to answer. Whilst I am on location. Feel free to let rip because I will answer.

What's the statut of the CS7 ? Will we see the 6 cab before the coupe ? Why are you still letting sauber use the BMW name while the cars are Ferrari powered ?

I would like to know more about both CS7 and CS6, how their design is gonna be, when are we gonna see the first spy pics, or at least some kind of Concept.

What would be the pricing strategy of a car such as the M1? The 135i is quite expensive enough, especially with options.

So true. Pricing is gone crazy.

There has been a big time reality check in real estate market with this economic downturn. I wonder when it will hit the car market and manufacturers realize that their pricing is not right for this market.

Unfortunately car makers will keep charging these high ass prices as long as they keep the word "premium" in their marketing strategy. Just like how you can still find mad expensive homes because they are in "Gated" communities, even though that's just a false sense of security.

Ok The First 10.

@ Braaf.
Can you confirm a release date for M1?

First details Dec.2010 , On sale Spring 2011 (Europe)

@ Klier
I want to know what BMW thinks of the Porsche 918 Spyder concept....

The Porsche concept flows in the opposite direction as the Vision Efficient Dynamics which is the route BMW have a course set on.
The Vision Efficient Dynamics might go Topless and be a two seater too. Porsche philes @ Geneva were horrified at the analmagnation of the Porsche brand into VW . The Audi comparisons especially at the rear were too much for some.

One of the reason why markets such as Europe will see Product rather than concept. Some countries have initiated a "Spend their way out of recession" and it is not going to work , some countries when their figures are revealed within the end of this quarter are going to be back in recession. @ Geneva the focus was on product that was coming to the market and in Leipzig the 5er Touring will debut as the New York Autoshow will see the North American debut of the 5er , X5 LCi , 3er Coupe and Cabrio LCi and the World Premiere of the 335iS. Because these are volatile markets the focus is on showcasing product. Beijing however is another matter especially when that market (China) is growing for BMW.

The M-1 will be priced slightly above the 135i maybe euro 10,000 more? But it is not going to be a 135i with a little more power, It has been completely overhauled - Dr Segler wants The M-1 to reinvent the Passion that afflicted the E30. Had the E30 been around today it would be sought by a younger demographic. This is what they want for the M-1.

@ Chonkoa
I will believe when I see something.

Although you see spyshots of prototypes and statements.
Ring season is almost upon us then you will see how far this has gone and then the camouflaged mules drive out.

@ Kowalski
Joy SUCKS.
Bring back the ultimate driving machine.

JOY IS... BMW. But the UK market still maintains "The Ultimate Driving Machine" alongside JOY.

CS 6 is to be shown as a Concept in the future , Although based on the matrix that underpins the 5,6 and 7er , The looks will not be inherited between the Coupe and Cabrio of the 6er. CS 6 is a four door Sports car.

CS 7 is being developed as a Sporty alternative to a luxury sedan meaning high luxury with a very dynamic character.
CS 6 Will not arrive until 2013. CS 7 is being worked on as we speak.

The 6er Coupe will come first.
The majority of 6er cabrios are testing with their roof folded over the rear axle to test weight distribution. A fibre glass top molded from the F13 roof shape is covered in the insulated hood from the E64 6er. There is a lot of fake panels over the car to put off photographers.

The Sauber is something about legality I think.

Techinical question for the M1

It s proberly a turbo engine. So how will they solve the throttle response which is so famous and popular under the highrev ///M engines.

Why did they not choose a 3.0 highrev motorsport engine instead of turbo. Money?
Please don t say Co2 because if thats so important they should not bring a x5M with 325co2 in the first place.

That's some great input. Even if it's not even true (I'm not questioning that now), this kind of interacting is just great. This has got to be the first time ever I see Scott responding to a few questions in a row. Such a direct Q&A should be done more frequently imo. This is a good way!

Manuel du Bocage, a famous ,17th century,Portuguese poet, is said to a few times, have walked the streets of Lisbon bound in an expensive piece of cloth. When asked why he didn´t have a suit instead of the cloth, his response was:" Well, I have the cloth to make the suit, I´m just waiting for the latest fashion"! That sounds like me waiting for BMW!!!
I like the 6er now, but what I´ve seen of the new 6er spy shots, makes me like it even more!!! Then in 2013 comes the CS6........damm, I may never get a car!!! Just gonna wait for the latest model......like duBocage!!!! :t-hands:

Thanks for the answer. At least that puts the price in perspective. Because I know that you keep on saying that you're targeting the younger crowd, but you have to remember that majority of the younger crowd aren't "Trust fund babies". Like me! Ha ha ha.
