Re: 1er pic thread

Very nice collection of pictures Deutsch

I have to say this:
b82bb6efb2bc72ffc43cefd5180cd562.webp

of the 1er right next to the engines of an Airbus A340 is really nice. Although I can't tell which version A340 it is I would say the 600 because I doubt that Lufthance, which this A340 belongs to, has a 500 version.

Re: 1er pic thread

Hey Deutsch, where can we find wall-paper sized versions of these photos?

Re: 1er pic thread

I've fallen in love with the one. Easily the most fun car I have ever driven. The thing handles like its on rails and is a pure joy to drive. And in the right colour (Monaco Blue mmm), with the right wheels it really is a high quality drool worthy vehicle. :t-drive:

When is the 1 due for a facelift?

No it wasn’t just the one, although it was the final nail in MB’s coffin :( . It’s been a gradual process. I've slowly become less enchanted with the current range of MB vehicles and the general state the company is in. The desirability of BMW on the other hand really has skyrocketed. The designs are dynamic and boundary pushing, and with the right wheel combos rather breathtaking. Also I must admit that until these last two years, I had very little experience with driving BMW's. But now I know, the cars really are brilliant to drive. Turbine like engines combined with brilliant handling and a decent ride make them winners in my book.

I guess I currently identify with the more youthful sporty image of BMW compared to MB's more conservative, and somewhat staid, image.

From the cars I’ve driven:

our E320 < 530i - MB is on top for ride and comfort, but the bmw is not far behind. Engine refinement wallops the E as does the handling and interior/exterior design.

SLK > Z4 - I've never been a fan of the Z4's styling, but at least it hasn’t become boring in 2 years like the SLK has. That said I found the SLK to be the better overall package.

120i < B200 - No contest. If practicality is your thing, get the B. For absolutely everything else the one is unbeatable.

our CLK240 < Outgoing 325Ci - We ended up with the CLK because my parents both loved the design of the vehicle. That said, as a sports car its dynamics and performance were notably behind the BMW. Also while the CLK can look somewhat effeminate, the BMW still looks to this day modern and muscular. The new one will crush the CLK no doubt.

Sorry for the loooong reply.

NOW someone must know when the facelift is due!!! :t-banghea :D

Why do you want to know so badly? The 1er looks awesome with the right extra's and the car isn't that old yet...

Re: 1er pic thread

Thats like asking when the new 3 series is having a fl.The 1 is only about a year old, right?

Re: 1er pic thread

At the moment I'm thinking of getting a 1 within the next 6-12 months. Its not a certainty, but just an idea im tossing around in my head. So I'd just like to know when a facelift would be expected. I'd hate to buy a car and then have an update come out a few months after.

why not wait til' the new Camaro comes out in 08'? LoL

If I were you I'd go for a three door w/ M sport pack. That would be sick!

Re: 1er pic thread

Beautiful images...subject matter is okay. Anyone think it looks like a PT Cruiser? It looks like BMW is trying to be all things to all people....sad
