MW's North American division has released official details on the new 335is Coupe and Convertible models ahead of their world debut at the New York International Auto Show in April.

Based on the facelifted versions of the 3-Series Coupe and Convertible, the 335is feature a detuned version of the 340HP N54 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged straight six found in the also new Z4 sDrive35is.
In the 335is this unit produces 320 horsepower and 332 lb-ft of torque with up to 370 lb-ft of torque available through the use of temporary overboost. As a reminder, BMW replaced the 300HP twin-turbo six N54 with the new 300HP single-turbo six N55 in the 2011 335i.

There's nothing official yet, and this thread should be merged with the official facelift thread to avoid confusion :)

I have two questions:

1. Will this 335is come to Europe?
2. Now we will have the 335 with 306hp and the 335is with 326hp, or the is replaces the i?

:t-cheers:

yes but according to the link from your forum these are now standard with M-package (313).
I don't read it that way. The iS has both the M package and these weels (which are called style 313). The option code for the M-package is 337.

1. Yes
2. Both are available.

Wonder why 322HP and not 335HP as for Z4 35is? And what about the 326HP engine upgrade option? Is the 'is' same as that engine option + dct + plus some other goodies like wheels and aero stuff?

No, I know it's not an opinion :)
It doesn't matter either, because we have the Perfomance upgrade here for people who want it. DCT, 326 hp, brakes, etc....all will stay/be available....

Keep up the great work on the site! It's good for my German (I can read about 97%)

I don't see the difference between this 335is and an EU 335i High Performance anyways? Maybe because both cars are basicly the same?

Yes, I saw that. I was told differently, though.

Well, I spoke with the person responsible for the 3-series and I don't know why his information shouldn't be correct. He would have absolutely no reason to say "it won't come" if it would come.
Basically it is a BMW 335i with the Power Kit from BMW Performance and a slightly different painted M Sport Package...

BMW to launch 335iS coupe to slot in above new 335i, below M3

Now that BMW has replaced the twin-turbo 335i with the new twin-scroll, direct injection model, the question everyone's been asking – and by everyone, we mean Bimmer fanatics – is what will happen to the outgoing N44 engine? The new N55 produces the same power and the same torque, but with a flatter curve that makes the grunt more accessible. Yet as every BMW tuner knows, the outgoing N44 has more potential. So the answer, according to reports, is BMW's plan to offer a new model dubbed the 335is.

Like the almost-an-M Z4 sDrive35is that debuted at the Detroit Auto Show last week, the new 335is is tipped to get a revised version of the twin-turbo inline-six, producing 340 horsepower and 332 pound-feet of torque (with overboost unleashing 369 lb-ft). Coupled with an M-Sport appearance package with a blacked-out grille and matching mirrors, and a choice of either six-speed manual or (for the first time outside of the M range) seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox and you're looking at the hottest dreiwagen this side of an M3. The run from 0 to 60 is expected to be dispatched in five seconds flat, with a top speed limited to 149 mph instead of 130.

The best part, however, is that – according to reports and some leaked documents – the 335is is slated to launch in the North American market before being considered for anywhere else. Finally some payback for all those hot European models we've been longing for from the opposite shore.

Looks much better than the standard LCI. I like it a lot. Love that rear bumper and front skirt.
