125i. This is propably for the European markets? Any info on the other engine choices for both European and NA markets (128i and 135i like the coupe for NA)?

I'm guessing that european market will get the entire engine range from 116i to 135i while NA market will get 128i and 135i only.

The coupe is currently available as 135i, 120d and 123d in Europe so I doubt the Cabrio will get all of the engines from 3dr/5dr model at least for the launch.

I agree with you. BMW has always launched at first cars with biggers engines. Only after some time weaker models have been introduced. I think that this time it will be the same.

You mean 4-cylinder petrol engines? 120d and 123d are both 4-cylinder (diesel) engines.

Yeah i ment petrol,i see alot of 5-3dr 116i-120i so i thought the coupe is available with those engines also

BMW 1-Series Cabrio Revealed
The fourth variant in BMW's 1-Series model range has now arrived with official details and photos being released today. But while the pictures speak for themselves, oddly enough only German-language information has surfaced. So forgive what might be a poor translation of the Cabriolet's German press release - official information in English is bound to surface very shortly.
BMW describe the newest edition to the marque's Cabriolet line-up as having characteristics typical of the brand and sporting a youthful, but elegant design, made so by its sleek profile, muscular wheel arches and pronounced shoulder-line.
Dubbed by the firm as the 'first premium cabriolet in the compact segment', the new soft-top 1-Series features an electro-hydraulic roof, capable of automatically opening and closing in 22 seconds - at speeds of up to 40 kph (25 mph). Exclusive options for the 1-Series' soft-top roof are also available. An anthracite grey option with glossed filaments allows for an interesting silver effect on sunny days, while the cabin is adorned by high quality materials and upholsteries. A 'class-first' in its stowage capability also allows for the safe transportation of golf clubs, or even two snowboards.
Touted as an authentic first rung onto the ladder towards the 'world of BMW Cabrios', the new 1-Series Cabriolet offers the unique open-top experience of driving a BMW Cabriolet with an impressive choice of powerplants. Four petrol models ranging from the 118i's 143 hp 2.0-litre unit to the 306 hp 3.0-litre six-cylinder 135i will be on offer, while a 177 hp four-cylinder turbodiesel will also be available.
