For added entertainment and a smoother transition when closing down hard into corners, the new gearbox also introduces a hearty blip of the throttle on downchanges.

Just like the old SMG gearbox. I absolutely LOVE it

The car is based on the E9x platform, and features a full blown folding metal top. There is NOTHING weird about the weight of the car
I agree it's not exactly lightweight anymore like the Z3 was, but a light and nimble Roadster/coupé below the Z4 is also coming.

Should be easy to cut 100 kgs from this fattie.

A fixed roof alone would take care of that....
But 200 kg off sounds even better. In the 1400s would be nice for this roadster! HOPE.

Isn't E92 a lot heavier than Z4?
I dont think E92 will do 0-200km/h below 19 seconds.

BMW claim the current E92 335i's curb weight is 1600kg, so they seem to be nearly the same.
