X6 X6 Pricing Almost Complete

The BMW X6 is a mid-size luxury crossover SUV by German automaker BMW. The BMW X6 is the originator of the sports activity coupé (SAC), referencing its sloping rear roof design. It combines the attributes of an SUV (high ground clearance, all-wheel drive and all-weather ability, large wheels and tires) with the stance of a coupé (styling featuring a sloping roof).

Although final pricing has not yet been finalized, a recent document containing all of the 2008 Model Year base prices included the new X6. Preliminary reports suggest the Sport Activity Coupe will bear a roughly $10,000 price premium over the comparable X5 model on which it's based. However, where the X5 makes due with naturally aspirated 6- and 8-cylinder engines, the X6 will feature turbocharged versions as standard.

The 300-horsepower, 3.0-liter twin-turbo six-cylinder X6 xDrive35i will start in the mid-$50s, while the 400-horsepower, 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 X6 xDrive50i will begin in the mid-$60s. Final pricing will be announced before the second-quarter 2008 launch of the X6.

My gawd, no more about Mercedes' lineup being to big.

A 335xi coupe would be perfect. Didn't know that one had arrived yet.

Oh I see. I hadn't seen one at the dealer on the road yet. Choice is nice.

I thought about that too, but it has the engines the X5 doesn't and it might stay that way until the 2010 model year.

I've been informed by my dealer that the starting price of X6 will be at least 10,000 € more thank X5.

:t-cheers:

but X6 has the new system Dynamic Performance Control (DPC) which X5 doenst. Also it has the new turbo v8 which X5 doesnt have either. I think the gab is justified.

More than 10k would definitely be too much! In any case you're getting what you pay for, that's for sure.

I think the price difference is ok.
It's not much different than the 5er -> 6er price difference, and those two cars even have the same technology, while the X6 has things the X5 hasn't.

550i base price in Holland: € 87.880

630i base price in Holland: € 91.600
650i base price in Holland: € 111.150

Clearly a big difference here too.
5er is for 'everybody', and 6er is for 'select few'. Same will be with X5 and X6.

Edit;

Here the price difference between X5 and X6 in my country:

X5 3.0d: € 73.840
X5 3.0sd: € 78.560

X6 xDrive30d: € 78.500
X6 xDrive35d: € 83.450

X5 4.8i: € 97.350

X6 xDrive50i: € 102.750

....looks like the difference is MUCH less than 5er/6er

I guess... but I don't see the X6 as exclusive as the 6er. But then again, compared to its rivals such as the Cayenne and Range Rover, then it puts the price into perspective.

Eventually, the X5 is going to get the exact same technology as the X6... but I'm gonna be pretty shocked if they jack up the price by a big amount.

Go figure. I'm anticipating a starting price of about $66,000 on the 50i.

The engines are the ones making this possible. But if they start this at more than $68,000, then it's time for even me to look at my other options in those ranges (70-80), really.
