Toyota Fortuner is one of the bread and butter model for the company in India and other Asian markets. Even though the Fortuner is old, it is the best selling model in its segment. Toyota has commenced the development of next generation Fortuner last year and we have already seen the model testing. Now we have got exclusive pictures of the next generation Fortuner production model. Our source has sent this picture from Indonesia.

Toyota is continuing the muscular design theme of the current generation Fortuner. But the design has been softened for better aerodynamics. The front headlamp is wider and bigger which joins with the front grill. The bumper also gets a new design which improves the muscular look of the SUV. In the Indian model, the Fortuner name will be written on the chrome line placed on the top of the grill. The front design of the next generation Fortuner is very similar to the flagship Land Cruiser. Toyota will reduce the ground clearance of Fortuner to improve the dynamics and efficiency.

The interior space will increase thanks to the increased wheelbase. Toyota will also give an upmarket interior for the Fortuner, which is different from Innova. Toyota is developing a new four cylinder diesel engine for the Fortuner. Our source has also informed us that the Fortuner production hub will be India and the model will be exported to different countries. The export model also comes with a V6 engine and there will be some changes from the Indian version. Next generation Toyota Fortuner will be revealed at 2016 Auto Expo.

Oh no!! It looks really crap, terrible!! :poop:
Even worse than the current one. Not much different to the grill and lights of the current Hilux. It doesn't look like an all new model to me, just another facelift!

Ok I take my words back about the styling, it looks good in these pics. It looks like an evolution of current model but more sleeker. The front overhang/nose seems quite long. The rear lights have hints of Isuzu KB in them. For me the interior is where I see a massive improvement, it is hugely more attractive and modern than the current workhorse look interior of older model especially the centre info screen looks very good and upmarket. It looks alot like a passenger cars interior now instead of looking only like a pick up interior and I would go on and say that it's interior is much better looking than many Toyota passenger car interiors, Corolla and Camry included.

My choice of best looking in this class is between the Ford Ranger and VW Amarok, they look much more butch looking than this new Hilux.

And in all fairness to Toyota, they never copy. They do things their own unique way. And the new HILUX is pure new age Toyota fair, in and out.

Yeah at least they don't copy like the Chinese! How many fake Isuzu KB, Nissan N200 and old Toyota Hilux have those Ching chongs brought to the SA market! Lol it's a joke!

I'm assuming the Hilux and the Tacoma are one of the same. They look worlds apart with the Tacoma looking significantly better.
