SLS Wimmer's Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Shots

The Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG (C197 / R197) is a front mid-engine, 2-seater, limited production sports car developed by the Mercedes-AMG division of Mercedes-Benz, with the assistance of David Coulthard. The car is the successor to the Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren. SLS stands for "Super Leicht Sport" (Super Light Sport).

These were taken at the small Mercedes-Benz showroom at the Odeonsplatz in downtown central Munich. It's a great location for advertising because this is a place where a lot of tourists and potential clients can be found as this is where a great concentration of wealthy people in Munich live. I took the photos with my Nikon D90 and alternated between my 18-55 / 18-200 and 10-24 mm lenses. The images were edited and prepared using Lightroom and Photoshop. Enjoy. :usa7uh:

The E-Class Convertible. I didn't like it in the press photos but in person it's quite nice-looking actually. I actually find it more elegant than the coupe, but I guess that's because it's top-down here.

Wow, awesome pics. How did it look in the flesh?

Thanks. :t-cheers:

The car looked quite nice. It's not as radical looking as some other exotics, but it definitely has presence and exotic looks. I also like the front and rear and virtually everything about the design, especially considering that this thing was designed completely by AMG themselves. I think the whole car is quite an accomplishment. The interior is also good. It looks high quality albeit very conservative (like most MB's).

I was reading up on the SLS in the latest Auto Motor und Sport there was a pretty in-depth article about how the placing of the engine and lack of bottom oil pan proved quite a challenge from a weight distribution and engineering standpoint. Amazing car, that's for sure.

Man you are such a great photographer!

How did the SLS look in the flesh?

Thanks. :t-cheers:

It looked very nice. See my response to PHYBENZ. :t-cheers:

I think that red color makes it look very sexy. I have a feeling the SLS will not look as sexy in silver (which has become quite boring lately as a Mercedes color). If I were to own an SLS, it would have to be red. :usa7uh:

and please hi-res gboy's wallp :D

Sure thing. I am using a different computer now but as soon as I am on my other computer where the pictures are on, I'll upload it. :t-cheers:

If anyone else wants wallpaper size images, let me know! :t-cheers:

I have a problem uploading the wallpaper sized images. Imageshack keeps resizing them without my permission! :t-banghea
