Water leak in Bag, BMW save some money.

I put a gallon of water in the boot of my 650 after shopping, forgetting that’s the location of the battery. The bottle broke after a road bump and water got everywhere, but fortunately there were no long-term electrical issues.

The shocking (pun intended) part is that the only thing separating the boot space and the battery is the carpeting.

The locations BMW selects to place some electrical components is really perplexing.

I once had a horrendous problem with condensation build up in the car (my old E46). After some investigation... I found this... under the dry boot carpet.

2nd this on my e39 they out the ABS sensor in the hot part of the wheel well and its in plastic and it melted. If you waited to long to fix it, it messed up the abs control unit and that was steep.

I always found bmws below premium in these areas. But they want plenty money for their cars
