C-Class Wall Street Journal - 2008 C Class Review

The Mercedes-Benz C-Class is a series of compact executive cars produced by Mercedes-Benz Group AG. Introduced in 1993 as a replacement for the 190 (W201) range, the C-Class was the smallest model in the marque's line-up until the W168 A-Class arrived in 1997.
He is full of shit.

I bet he is one of those idiots who think all European brands are unreliable and you shouldn't even bother with them, and Japanese brands are scaled-down versions of God. But then again, if there was a God, this guy should stop writing about cars, now!

But even more harmful to the brand image is that Mercedes has diluted its unique claim as a builder of high-end luxury cars by going after nearly every product segment in the U.S. market.

It started over 10 years ago, so get over it.

For 2008, Mercedes is more of a full-line brand than Ford.

Really? Where is Mercedes' small pickup truck, large pickup truck, full-size van, heavy-duty pickup, and entry-level hatchback in their U.S. lineup?

Yes a real dumb arse. This guy is a textbook example of why automotive "writers" shouldn't do "write" anything. Clearly he is clueless about anything car releated. Any dummy can post what he did. All he did was look at the equipment list and re-hash MB's (passing) reliability woes. Great, substantial review!

Amazing how Wall Street hires total morons to write car reviews for them. I have nothing against bad reviews about the C-Class but this review to me seemed filled with hate and dislike. It's like before he wrote the review his girlfriend told him about how unreliable her W203 C230 Kompressor is and this guy decides to let his anger out on the new model.

He's the first person to slam the C300's performance. Most magazines have said that this engine is perfectly fine and not short on power at all. Then he goes on to rant about 7Gtronic? The transmission adapts to the drivers driving style. Maybe this punk (:D) should learn how to drive properly first and then talk about the transmission. :D

I wonder what car impresses him in this class? I wouldn't be surprised if after this review he drove a Camry 4-cylinder for Wall Street Autos and would rave about how good and fast it is!

Given the fact he doesn't know shit about cars, which makes him a dullard, it's very unlikely he has a girlfriend.

I bet he was the butt of the jokes at school.

Seemed like a review of the mercedes brand rather than the c-class, and a very negative one too. His negative words of the c-class do not seem to be supported by any realistic example. This reminds me of an earlier article comparing bmw and merc in that merc is built from the s-class down, while bmw is from the 3-series up. But one would not expect such luxuries typical of cars in the s-class range as massage seats to be common or available in a rather 'inexpensive' sedan. Otherwise, BMW would have gone a long way indeed to add massage seats etc. in the 7-series built up from its c-class comparable 3-series sibling. A very long way.

Reminds me of a motor journalist employed by Sweden's biggest newspaper. The guy write conspicuous reviewing with blant and obscene comment, especially about Mercedes. Every since he managed to flip the first generation A-class over, he can been incredibly anti-Mercedes.

What I hate about him is that he give every single new Volvo top marks and can't review a sports car without nagging on practicality, fuel consumption or price. I can't believe that a twat like that is still employed.

I have just ordered a C350 Sport with AMG & A170 Auto. So his reviews did not effect me at all. I did my homework and am sure we are going to like whats coming.

I have to wait very long, 6 months for C350........What do you think will be the changes of it having the 3.5V6 with direct injection ?
