Italian site Infomotori has got a bunch of photoshops featuring Volvo's upcoming XC50 SUV which will take on the likes of the BMW X3 and the future Mercedes MLK & Audi Q5 SUVs. As the bigger XC70 is based on the V70, likewise the XC50 will be based on the V50 using the same AWD system.

According to Informotori, when the XC50 goes into production (first months of 2008), its line-up will be similar to the V50 and it will include the 220 Hp 2.5T petrol and 180 Hp D5 diesel engines.

This could turn out to be nice.

Yeah it's got potential... but it better be good, because the X3-segment will be crowded soon and there will alot to choose from!

That's true. BMW will have to do a lot of work in the next X3.

hmm, many things to say, but i have to go to bed. Anyway, f*ck sleep, let's talk about the car.

Yes, it has potential, since it seems to be a nice design and this segment doesn't have many cars yet. The interior looks great and so does the exterior. I see that one pipe in each side, like no other volvo, and at last it has some nice rear lights. what else to ask for :D

A lot, but half as much as Audi and Mercedes, who have never built such a car before.
