Volkswagen car?

What differences are there between Volkswagen polo 2003 and 2002? I'm buying 2003 from a dealer but somehow it feels like they're lying about the model of the car... It looks more like 2002 to me! But I'm not sure either... How could I tell if they're lying or not? Can you find me pictures of the two or is there another way of telling? Please help me out! I don't want to be cheated!

Most probably they are not lying to you. They could have made a mistake. 2003 might be the first registration of the car and not when it was manufactured.
There was a new model unveiled in 2002 but during the first part of the year the old model was still in production.
The old model is actually based on a 1994 platform and got a serious refresh in 2000.
The whole interior was changed. The exterior went through extensive refresh too.

PS: The 2002 model is almost completely different. It's a true NEW Model unlike the old one

Well thanks for your quick reply!!! But I meant to write "golf" instead of polo...
Anyways I'm sure you can still help me. This person has only shown me the car once and the pictures he'd posted online weren't clear enough... The car has "golf" and "18" written on the back.. Which style is it?

Can you please post your pictures? Does it say 18V ?

It really depends if you live in NA or somewhere else.

Golf 4 was introduced in 1997 and was replaced by the Golf 5 in 2003... that goes for EU and most countries.
In USA/NA it was sold up until 2005 and in 2006 it was replaced by the Golf 5.

So if you live in EU for example or anywhere else but NA you'll be able to find both the Golf 4 and Golf 5 as a 2003 model because they were both produced during 2003(the same case as with the Polo).
