There is one aspect that can not be compromised by it's one purpose as a Sports Car.

This is the incoming new design feature for BMW for all models.
The 3-D closed shell grille , upturned shell with the traditional shape enclosed inside.
As a design feature it works especially in seeing the shape for real.

What´s up with that rearlights? Will we see somethinh similar on hte next F10? It looks as EnI said one

The lights on the Z2 are much smaller and thinner on a Roadster or a Coupe. On a sedan , Touring SAV etc they will be much larger to fit the dimensions of the model.

That coupe interpretation is a Soltstice Coupe. Looks like BMW will be taking styling cues from GM...haha:

You all know (most of you at least) that I don't like drop tops, but got damn that Z2 looks sexy as a motha f__ka.

I've already said it Scott, I'm quite looking forward to these and of course the M10.

Just received word from my colleagues in Munich.

BMW has green lighted the Z2 Roadster and Coupe.
Being based on the next 1er Platform is pertinent to the cars future.

The product development team compiled a convincing strategy together with engineering and design departments that was too good to resist.

Production model will be launched late 2012.

Z2 Concept under Project-i will debut soon.

Finally. It was expected they would do that a month ago already.
Why a delay?

It was more to do with the Electric and Battery design and development , also BMW wanted to see more ideas on the Z-Xcoupe. and Z-Xcabrio Which will be a 3dr Coupe and a cabrio with an Individual design to the Z2 Coupe with four wheel drive.
These models are not green-lighted as yet but there is an ongoing competition for such a model which could be badged as X2 or
simply Z-XCoupe?

I have seen some ideas and to say that they very different from anything you have never seen before it's not just a regular high riding four wheel drive with a dramatic sloping roof or indeed a cabrio think of it as a progression of the original xCoupe Concept Car just low , dramatic and ultra sporty short overhangs , wheel in each corner ,no overuse of black plastic as typical an X vehicle and a less commanding driving position you would experience in a typical four wheel drive SUV.

Again such a model stems from BMW's creative thinktank where such cutting edge concepts such as the Progressive Activity Sedan and X6 were created .

Will it make production? Who knows but BMW aim to expand it's entry series product line with unique and unconventional choices to bring new customers and appease traditional customers who need to downsize.

Can i get involved in any way?

The Concept is pretty much being worked on creatively with some ideas being identified and we are too early for the production car .

Klaus said in very recent interview that they still were in search for a battery supplier, they investigated, japanese, corean and american products but apparently they still didn't find what they want.

Now we know the Vision Z is a sustainable sportscar Concept by BMW, while "the terrible twins" Coupe & Roadster are actually new concepts by MINI ... the untamed twins.
