Former world champion Jacques Villeneuve has parted company with his Long-term manager Craig Pollock.
The split between the 1997 title winner and 11-time Grand Prix winner is believed to be down to Pollock's resistance to Villeneuve's recent move into NASCAR racing in the USA.
But the 36-year-old Canadian said that that personal reasons were more important.
"Craig has a new wife and he wants to concentrate on his family life which will be based in Europe," said Villeneuve.
"As a newlywed and recent father myself, I can understand that he wishes to fix his attention on his family."
"As for myself, I decided to settle here in Canada with my family in order to continue racing in NASCAR. I want to concentrate on that."
Pollock became involved with Villeneuve when he taught the youngster to ski in the late 1980s and brokered his moves into ChampCar - in which he won the 1995 title - and then Formula One.
Villeneuve will race in the NASCAR Sprint Cup this season with Bill Davis Racing.
