Touareg Video: Touareg tows a Boeing 747.

Well, it's not very hard for the Touareg to tow the 747. All that is needed is to overcome the static friction, which is not too hard...FYI, on one of the World's Strongest Man TV shows, a man was able to pull a 737...

Even if that's true then kudos to VW for thinking to do it before anyone else.;)

:t-banghea

Yeah, kudos to them for doing something every other car with a few extra Nm can do too. Spectacular!!

It's just a lame marketing trick.

I must say however, that facelifted Touareg looks good. Better than the last!

It's just a lame marketing trick.

Now lets see how much power you need to tow a really heavy aicraft:

The new model designed for the A380 - the SCHOPF F396P - delivers impressive figures: 450 PS/330 kW Deutz diesel engine, drawbar pull of up to 460 kN with a maximum weight of 70 tons, makes sure that even the largest aircrafts like the A380 will be handled fast and safe.

The SCHOPF F396P Tractor has "only" 450HP, but has a drawball pull force of 450kN, which is more than the thrust of ONE engine of a 777-200ER.

Now who else thought that it was easy?

"I was a bit disappointed we couldn’t find something heavier to tow as it was a bit too easy! If anyone could lend us a heavier aircraft then please let us know."

at last a professional driver with humor :D

So that's not a regular 747 but the one they used in Casino Royale? The placement of the jet engines doesn't look very good...
