Accord Video: 2008 Honda Accord Coupe

The Honda Accord, also known as the Honda Inspire in Japan and China for certain generations, is a series of automobiles manufactured by Honda since 1976, best known for its four-door sedan variant, which has been one of the best-selling cars in the United States since 1989. The Accord nameplate has been applied to a variety of vehicles worldwide, including coupes, station wagons, hatchbacks and a Honda Crosstour crossover.

Initial Thoughts: It's amazing how lousy the sedan looks compared to the coupe despite the fact that their design is fundamentally similar. Good that there's a more pronounced distinction between the two models this time around - much like the E90/E92.

Interior looks fantastic. You could easily pass this off as an Acura. I'm wondering though - is the Nav no longer touchscreen? I like the new upward position of the screen, but functionality may be hampered. I love how the Nav in my '04 Accord operates, so I'm pretty apprehensive about the new configureation.

The Coupe looks quite good and will probably have good road presence. I'm somewhat dissapointed still, that Honda wasn't able to pull away with a cohesive design that made some kind of style commitment. The front end, with it's square'ish grille clashes with the rest of the car in a way that reeks of committee deisgn. For a moment there it appeared as though Honda was poised to redefine what we thought about the Accord - Alas, what we have is a very strong effort that unfortunately doesn't go the extra 9 yards.

Thumbs up from me - But I don't think I'll be trading in my '04 Accord Coupe anytime soon. I'm also not completely sold on the bump in output to 268hp. It's a stout figure, but it's not such a leap over the current 3.0 VTEC to make me want to jump ship.
