US GL550 Pricing (Base)

Buyer just got NetStar copy of his order and it shows the Base Price for the new 2008 GL550 as $76,975. This is a loaded base model with almost all the options available on the GL450 included, except for Distronic and Off Road Package. It does include the ADSII damping system. The only Options available are the Keyless Go, Rear Seat TV, Hitch, iPod Kit and Illuminated Entry. Besides all the other options as standard, the GL550 has:
5.5L DOHC V-8
21" 5-Spoke AMG Alloy wheels
All-Season Continental tires (295/40)
Fender Flares
New Front Bumper
New Grille with three lamella
X- Large M-B Star
Chrome Roof Rails
Chrome belt-line
Chrome Liftgate step protection
Dual split chrome exhaust tips
Blue Tinted Glass

Yes...same design. Bumper is also new to accept the deeper grille.

I agree, that grill looks better indeed. But i wonder why did they change the grill before FL? Or why didn't they sell it at very start, before US release?

They have been selling GL500 (GL550) for quite long here, almost a year, it always had same grill as on GL450, now those who already bought GL500 will be mad...
Or are they going to release that grill strictly for US only?

This model will only be sold in the US and Canada. Almost all options are standard. Perhaps when the GL420 is released in EU, it will have this grille like the Bluetec Vision model.

Thanks Bighead. No changes on the interior from the GL450 or 320. All changes with the exterior and the inclusion of ADSII without the ORP.
