Ultima smashes world 0-100-0 record - again. And now the production 1/4 mile

Ultima has smashed its own world record for the 0-100-0mph dash for the third consecutive year, using the road-legal 200mph Ultima GTR supercar. The company is the current world record holder.

Driven by Ultima director Richard Marlow, the British-built and designed GTR set a new world record time of a staggering 9.4 seconds for the 0-100mph-0 sprint. The GTR scorched from 0-60mph in 2.6 seconds, 0-100mph in 5.3 seconds and braked to zero from 100mph in a mind blowing 3.6 seconds, which are all in themselves road car world record times.

The Ultima GTR used for the successful record attempt was the factory’s standard production specification Ultima GTR640 demonstrator, which has recently been upgraded with a 720bhp Chevrolet V8 engine, and hence now known as the Ultima GTR720.

The GTR720 was fully road legal, road-tyred and equipped with a standard 5 speed G50 transmission and a standard production engine option from Ultima’s official OE engine suppliers American Speed. No traction control devices or ABS braking aids were used.

Three videos of the same run. They put some poor C5 Corvette up against it. The poor car didn't have a chance. It got totally destroyed.

Damn I hate this LeMans racer type cars which are 'road legal'. They simply set records eventhough they are 9/10th a racecar!

Same thing with the Nordschliefe record. It was the Porsche Carrera GT, until some stupid racecar which met road-legal specs trashed its record by over 15 seconds. Annoying!

But, I still must congratulate these Ultima guys for achieving such a bone-jarring feat!
