German tuning firm A.R.T. has added a new model to their modified Mercedes CLS range with the introduction of the new CLS350 derived GTR374. Styled along the lines of a DTM racer, the new GTR374 gets broadened fenders and side-skirts, widened doors and rear side panels with integrated air inlets located in front of the rear wheels. Improve downforce is an A.R.T. front spoiler, a new rear bumper with an integrated diffuser and a small lip spoiler jutting off the trunk.
To match the go-fast looks, the tuners added an AK35 supercharger kit to the 3.5L V6, upgraded the engine’s electronics and removed the car’s top-speed limiter. The final addition is a set of four double-walled tailpipes and a high-flow stainless steel exhaust and cat-converter. Peak output now stands at 374hp (279kW) and 510Nm (376ft-lb) of torque.
Handling and dynamics is improved thanks to the 70mm wider track up front and even wider 80mm track in the back. A suspension lowering kit sees the modified CLS ride up to 40mm lower than standard, and is accompanied by a set of three-piece 20in wheels finished in ‘Nano’ black satin.
