Toyota U.S. recall extravaganza

Tundras, Scions, and now... Toyota Motor is recalling 367,600 U.S. Highlander and Lexus RX SUVs to fix clips that may allow a console access panel to fall onto the gas pedal.

The recall applies to 2004-2005 Highlanders and RX 330s and 2006 Highlander Hybrid and RX 400h models. Stronger clips will be installed to replace the original units.

Toyota says it has had seven reported complaints about the errant panel, and in two cases it interfered with the gas pedal, causing accidents. No injuries have resulted.

because people are superbaised ;)

I think people are tired of hearing about invincible Japanese quality, particularly Lexus’s.

My family has just bought 3 new Lexus vehicles these past 6 months and they've all had a quality niggle or two. I was quite amused when I realized that they had in fact fitted the wrong steering wheel to the RX (The wood is a different color and grain to the rest of the interior) and poked fun at my uncle about it. Too bad a week later the catalytic converter on our CLK collapsed completely resorting the engine to limp mode up an extremely steep hill. :t-banghea Talk about Karma lol.

Just like VW is paying you, my friend...:D

I wish that VW/Audi payed me but nothing...at least they could give me a free RS4 for my contribution to the brand.;) :D

There are many reasons that make us biased.

Yea, some great reasons! This shows no car maker is immune to recalls. In last few days I've seen Audi, Bentley, Rolls-Royce, Lexus recalling their vehicels! It sucks!

BTW, haven't been here for few days, my Internet was broken, 1200 new posts! It will take some time till I catch up!
