Official Thread Toyota Gazoo Racing presents the world premiere of the GR GT and GR GT3

"GR will join Toyota, Lexus, and soon-to-be Century as the company adds brands to its portfolio. No word on pricing, but none of the Toyota reps present scoffed at our suggesting a $350,000 to $400,000 price, which would land it in the world of the Aston Martin Vanquish, Ferrari 296, Ford Mustang GTD, McLaren 750S, and Porsche 911 GT3 RS."

If it's +300K, the competition is going to be really tough for Toyota! There are so many incredible cars in this price range.

Long hood v8 Corolla coupe this is, the Lexus with more powertrain options would be better then this, this one is welcome too, I can't unsee that Corolla, Viper like look from this.

It's an investment no one would dare make in today's market conditions. Toyota deserves congratulations. It's an exciting car.
This and the Lexus in these days and that Cosworth V12 GMA T50 too, this era is awesome. For me better then 2005.

650+ PS, 850+ Nm
Over-square, dry sumped, high-revving turbo V8
Wet-clutch 8 speed transaxle automatic with integrated electric motor (that’s a first, I think)
Rear-wheel drive
1750kg
Platform for GT3 racecar
Wild looks
Huge potential driver appeal

What’s not to like? Perhaps the (expected) price but that’s not going to bother the target market.

I think it’s great that a company like Toyota still sees the importance of bringing a top-end sports car to market.
Exterior/interior could have been better. If it costs around 150k it’s good. If 300 plus-not good.

my expectations were very high ,I am really disappointed with this ,it is not good looking nor aggressive enough for car in this class!!

At first blush, the interior looks quite decent. There are a lot of expensive cars where the interior isn't that special - sign of the times.
As for the exterior, well, I reckon it's pretty dramatic. For a Toyota, at least. I'd have this over its closest direct rival - the Aston Martin Vantage.

Cosworth V12 or Bugatti V16
Both completely meaningless. Off the shelf scrambled together non OEM crap.

2005 is infinitely better without hybrid BS.
Agreed for cars in 2005 but phones and such of 2025, I never loved crt tvs.

The interior is alright, the Lexus concept has the best one, but that exterior gives me some Camry V8 coupe, or 1998 Aston Martin V8 Vantage look but still okayish.

The GR looks 6.3 times better.

So...
Aston Martin Vanquish
5.2 l v12 TT 824 Hp
Price over $400,000

Ferrari 296 GTB
3.0 l V6 TT 820 HP
Price around $350,000

Ford Mustang
5.2 l V8 SC 815 HP
Price starts at $325,000

McLaren 750S
4.0L TT V8 740 HP
Price starts at $319,000

Porsche 911 GT3 RS
4.0 l flat 6 NA 520 HP
Price around $ 250,000

Additional models

Porsche turbo S
3.6 L flat 6 TT 701 HP
Price starts at $ 270,300

Mercedes GT 63 S E Performance
4.0 L V8 TT 805 HP
Price $202,200

Lamborghini Temerario
4.0 l V8 TT 907 HP
Price estimated to start at $ 380,000+

Almost every model on this list , except Porsche 911 GT3 RS, is more powerful than GR GT. I do like design of GR GT but I thought it would have around 720+ HP. Latest V8 TT is the one from Lamborghini and engine itself has around 789 hp and 10 250 rpm redline.
I'm not so sure GR GT will cost that much ($350,000-400,000)
