Videos Top Gear: Audi TT, Alfa Brera & Mazda RX-8.

Wow, that was some great understeer right there :t-drive:
Props to the TT for winning against the RX8, I thought that was pretty surprising.

My choice. TT, can't beat German engineering. Would definitely get Quattro though.

Congratulations to Audi.:eusa_clap

The fastest FWD car to go around the Top Gear test-track is also faster than a BMW M3! :eusa_danc

You know what I found strange? The Alfa Romeo Brera went around the dry TG track in 1.36.9 - that's slower than the understeery-twitichy-b*st*rd Vauxhall Vectra VXR which went around the same dry track in 1.35.

And yet Clarkson mocked on the poor, but slightly faster Vectra and gave the props to the slower Alfa. I simply don't get all the fuss he did about the Brera.:t-hands:

It's the looks and general desirability of the Alfa that cause the TG crew (among others) to overlook just about anything that might be wrong with the car itself. There are many Alfas (the Brera is not one of them) that would make me do the same. ;)

Actually, you are quite right about the desirability and looks of the Alfa. It really is a Gorgeous looking car and the V6 engine sounds very nice indeed.

The thing is though, the Brera was a car I wanted to love, but I'm not overly impressed with it. I was expecting a whole lot more - I was expecting to be a RWD V8 Coupé like the Concept.

The Brera, then, is not the Alfa I would want. I would rather have the 4-door 159 3.2 V6 Saloon in 4WD configuration.

Audi

Audi AG is a German automotive manufacturer of luxury vehicles headquartered in Ingolstadt, Bavaria, Germany. A subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group, the company’s origins date back to the early 20th century and the initial enterprises (Horch and the Audiwerke) founded by engineer August Horch (1868–1951). Two other manufacturers (DKW and Wanderer) also contributed to the foundation of Auto Union in 1932. The modern Audi era began in the 1960s, when Volkswagen acquired Auto Union from Daimler-Benz, and merged it with NSU Motorenwerke in 1969.
