Tomtom or Garmin .... which is best?

Never had a tomtom so can't compare but my latest garmin (3790) is the best garmin I had so far, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone. Deckhook don't be fooled by the 5" 2460 screen, it's only a third of the resolution of the 4.3" 3790 screen and it is not multitouch. Makes all the difference in the world. Seriously try both in the store before commiting.

I only got to hold the 3760 which was the only model of the new design they had but didn't have connected so could get to actually see it in action. It's a classy looking unit with a real quality feel way beyond the 2460, really did remind me of my iphone4 but my problem with this model over the much cheaper 2460 is that I only use it on holiday which is two weeks in the year, my car and the wife's already have sat navs built in (piss poor in comparison) but back home I can get to where I want without it anyway.

It's sounds stupid debating the cost when there's only £70 difference but that's the cost of the US maps. Trust me if I used a Sat Nav on a regular basis then I wouldn't even hesitate about the 3790.

No problem Martin, I was only looking for a bit advice on which brand or model was better but I've made my decision so you are more the welcome to either close or delete this thread now.
