to owners: how heavy/not fast is the 325i cab?

looking at a car to buy, but wondering whether the gear ratios are too long and the car is slightly on the sluggish side. i know it's not slow, but i still would like the car to be fun and dynamic (well, agile too i guess).
can anyone help?
