The Light Fantastic...

It is an existing car.
But it's when you delve deeper it's differences become apparent.

It is more technical than visual.
But it showcases the future opportunities available to BMW via the investment of Project-i.

to quote " The Impossible is Nothing"

But more importantly you see the Concept BMW M5 next week.

I hope the M5 has some surprise, for instance it weighed 150kg less than the 550i.

M3 E90 Lightweight already revealed? It this the Concept that was said to be revealed at Tokio or will it be one another? M3 CSL E92? Z4 M CSL E89? M5 CSL F10? M6 CSL F13? 1M CSL E82?

The E90 Sedan has months to live so this car is seen as the Gran Finale for the Sedan.
The Coupe has under two years left so whilst there will be something (for Production) to end the legacy of the E92 before the new generation F32 is ushered in.

They also want to show how far the envelope can be pushed , and in terms of the Concept E90 it is light. But they want to throw down the gauntlet in reaction that Mercedes or Audi follow with a similar concept by showcasing the engineering prowness of M in their bid to get as light as possible to show how far you can go. It's all a question of showing you what is possible in the future and how that future is rapidly approaching and that BMW M will once again be the pioneers.

Interesting. M3 LTW E90 and then M3 CSL or GTS-R E92. Now I would love a Z4 M CSL, but I know I am dreaming.
