This, ladies and gentlemen, is Mercedes-Benz'es new flagship sedan, set to be officially introduced in Frankfurt Motor Show in September. The updated looks were expected, given the teaser video we reported a coupe of days ago, but what is interesting, is availability of a "4MATIC" badged S63 AMG, which indicates the presence of an all-wheel-drive system, joining the E63 AMG S-Model 4MATIC.

Under the hood, the familiar M157 5.5l biturbo V8 is found, this time with 585 hp and 900 Nm of torque. Mercedes-Benz claims an improvement in fuel consumption, mainly because of the 100kg weight reduction and a wide variety of interesting tech and features, like direct injection with piezo injectors, an all aluminum crankcase and air-to-water intercooler. This also results in a time of just 3.9 sec for the 0 to 100 km/h and an electronically limited top speed of 300 km/h.

Power is transferred to either the rear or all four wheels via MB's seven-speed Speedshift automatic transmission, which offers three modes of operation – Controlled Efficiency, Sport and Manual. An interesting piece of information is that "C" mode also directs the S63 to start off smoothly in second gear. As far as the 4MATIC system is concerned, 67% of the engine's torque is normally sent to the rear wheels.

You can find an extensive photo gallery and MB's official press release after the jump.
