So just bought an audi A1 2001. Look like the previous owner modded the boot divider with 2 speakers. After plugging in the wires, they don't seem to be working. Check the fade and balance as well. The rear speakers in the rear seats and the rear speakers in the boot are all 4 not working. Front speakers work. The wiring plugging into the speakers seem to be non-professionally made, but they look like they "should" work.
I am no expert in wiring, and have little experience with speaker/ headunit modification. I did run my multi meter on resistance and checked the boot speakers themselves when I unplugged them and they appear not to be blown. Should I set my multi meter on AC and check the cabling to see if power is even getting to the speakers?
I took a flash light an had a peak between little holes between the center dash and the glovebox, and see the speaker cable go up into the stock headunit. I think they are plugged in, but can't really confirm.
Also another question, These boot speakers don't seem to be running into any amplifier, could this be an issue as well? I know my speakers in my golf ran into an amp in the rear side pocket in the boot. I checked in there and it looks like a big black box with a fan coming out the rear. I'm still rather unfamiliar with what everything is in the A3.
Help would be appreciated. And sorry for the long post
TLDR; How to test rear speakers to see if power it getting to them, where is amp int A3, and what does it look like.
Also, a reputable Audio shop around Nuremberg would also be helpful.
