Just how big is the price differents for full optied 335i and a S5? I was under the impression that the S5 comes loaded, where the 335i has a rather expensive option sheet. I don't know, we're not getting the S5 in the US until November.

I can only speak for Sweden. Anyway, its unintresting and that Turbo engine is a more natural competitor to 335i.

PS in Sweden A5 3.2q cost as much as a 335i.

yes and 335i with 306hp and S5 with 354hp...makes no sense comparing these eithers and certainly not when the new Turbo engine from Audi comes- S5 is on is own

Why not?Is difference so obvious?I don´t think so .When Audi comes out with new Turbo engine,than it will make sense..For now,it does not,sorry .

when S4 V8 existed everyone compared it to M3 E46 but now when the RS4 is here, a S-version cant be compared to a M3?
Audi has new engine coming up to compete with 335i, a Turbo engine with +300hp. So what will happen to S5 becuase when that new turbo engine from Audi comes everyone will compare it to 335i.

That new engine will exacerbate Audi's problem with positioning of their trims against comparative products from BMW.
For now, the 335i competes very well with the S4/S5 in terms of performance but at an affordable price.
If the new engine comes out- what will it do to the S4/S5 market?
Will it put the S4/S5 in a class of its own in the eyes of the consumer or will the consumer consider this new trim along with the S4/S5 as all competitors to the 335i?
It seems to me that BMW has its products and trims well positioned whereas Audi on the other hand has a bit of a problem with positioning IMHO.
