F1 Technical Paper on F1 engine development in the V8 era

Came across this a little while ago, thought I'd share it. It's a technical article written by ex-BMW Motorsport boss Dr Mario Theissen.

It's mostly in the context of the development of BMW F1 engines, but it does put into perspective the climate of development of the engines in the early 2000's

I know I've kept ranting on against F1 engines in the AMG Project One thread, but they are genuinely fascinating pieces of engineering, but this paper really shows the effect of regulations on development.
