While the F1 teams take a short break, the Mercedes-AMG Motorsport Customer Racing outfits have been racking up further successes all around the world
The season opener of the British GT Championship at Oulton Park resulted in a brace of victories for the Mercedes-AMG Customer Racing teams. James Cottingham and Jonny Adam (both GBR) driving the number 4 Mercedes-AMG GT3 of 2 Seas Motorsport won the first race of the Easter weekend in a dramatic rain-soaked sprint to the finish: the British duo secured the wafer-thin victory only in the very last corner.
In Race 2, it was the turn of their 2 Seas Motorsport team-mates in the number 1 Mercedes-AMG GT3: Jules Gounon (AND) and Ian Loggie (GBR) came in ahead of Raffaele Marciello (SUI) and John Ferguson (GBR) in the number 15 RAM Racing Mercedes-AMG GT3 to make it a sensational one-two finish for the brand. Cottingham and Adam, who finished fourth on Sunday, leave Oulton Park as championship leaders, level on points with Gounon and Loggie. The next British GT Championship race weekend will be held at the Silverstone Formula 1 circuit on the weekend of 6/7 May.
