Saab Spy shots: 2010 Saab 9-4X


Saab Automobile AB was a car manufacturer founded in Sweden in 1945 when its parent company, Saab AB, began a project to design a small automobile. The first production model, the Saab 92, launched in 1949. The company filed for bankruptcy in 2011 and production stopped in 2014.

Saab is close to completing development work on a new midsized crossover it plans to launch late next year. The new model will be called the 9-4X and according to Saab boss Jan Ake Jonsson it will be appearing at next year’s New York Auto Show. To spread development costs, the platform for the 9-4X will be shared with Cadillac’s next-generation SRX and both vehicles are expected to be manufactured at a plant in Ramos, Mexico.
