A8/S8 ***Spotted the new Audi A8***

Just barely. This car caught me completely off-guard and at first I thought it was an A6 as I only saw it from the rear. Then I noticed the "A8" badge and was only able to snap this photo.

I mistook it for a facelifted A6 at first. It's not an ugly car but it is so "undistinctive" compared to the last A8.

I totally agree. I look at the picture, knowing it is an A8 but my brain can't think of anything but an A4.

I often wonder if any of the people here who incessantly harp on about how the new A8 supposedly 'looks just like an A4' have actually taken the time to read up on any of the technology and innovation that's gone into it? I think those topics would make for far more interesting discussion.

People don't have to read up any technology when commenting on the design of a car. Technology is not visible, otherwise the S-class would have been maybe the best looking car in the world. Which it is not.

Start a topic about the innovation of the A8 if you want to talk about those things. When people see a crappy pic of the new A8 looking like A4 or A6, these are the replies one will get, because Audi was retarded enough to design a new A8 that looks like A4/A6.

There is no question over the technology and engineering integrity of this new A4...oops i mean A8...and i'm quite sure that its giving some BMW and Mercedes engineers some headaches. What we're dissapointed about is that the car's exterior design fails to give this engineering any justice - as mentioned in almost every other A8-related post, this car simply looks like an enlarged A4.
